I like playing PR
And I think you do too.
May I ask why?
I like leading squads into situations they can't possibly win.
Sometimes we win.
That's only when half the server loses connection though.
What's your favourite thing about PR?
And yes! There is purpose to this thread! Recently a lot of people have turned away from the mod to ARMAII and other games, and a reminder of why PR is unique wouldn't go a miss.

The Community.
Joining a game and a Community like this is really tough.
With the involvement of what the DEVs do with the community,
The 1 on 1 discussions with players, getting suggestions and feedback.
The Community Events to get players together
The Training Events they do to lessen the Noob level to like an Orange (it's getting to Red)
They did a great job. Working with the community
2nd, it's free.
and 3rd, for me, it was a first of its kind. I never heard of ArmA and such, then I ran into project reality and was overwhelmed by the excellence of it.
Been playing for 2 years, still rollin

I like PR because of the Teamwork, and because of the tactics used and the suppression.

Spending ages searching the map for weapon caches, and finding out they're both on the other side of the map.

The teamwork, the realism and the community. It's like that saying: "All good things come in threes"

Re: I like playing PR
The whole military feel of the game.
When someone kills a tank from an Apache in PR, they aren't like: "OMG did you see my awesome kill? That was total pwnage!!!!!"
Instead, they just say: "Enemy armor neutralized. Squad 2, it should be clear for you to move in now, we'll cover you with the 30mm. Laze any hostile infantry you encounter."
The people are serious and commited to winning, yet still funny and enjoyable to play with.
It's something that is very unique to Project Reality; I have yet to encounter it in any other game.

Re: I like playing PR
Most of the reasons why I like it have been posted.
I like the teamwork and working with people instead of going in alone like in so many online games. Than I also like the gameplay mechanics. I cant believe I held BF2 in almost the same light as PR when I just began with it.

Re: I like playing PR
Im addicted, I don't know why.
The community is the best thing about it. I have thoroughly enjoyed other games in the past but have never got involved with a community or even visted a gaming forum before PR. Now I can't seem to go through a day without checking at least 3 different PR related forums.
It is also I feel the perfect balance between realism and gameplay. I love realistic games but PR manages to both meet my expectation of realism and what should or shouldn't be possible whilst making it consistently fun and entertaining to play. The teamwork factor is fantastic also. Sure ARMA 2 may be more realistic but in terms of a consistent community the vast majority of whom love a teamwork oriented approach it comes way short (TG aside). This is where PR really gets its realism, it is something that no amount of military authenticity can induce.

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Re: I like playing PR
I like playing PR because you can take a small squad from one side of the map to the other with cooperation from the entire team. Not like in BF2 where you take the FAV and haul butt to the other side just to get TKed or Aimbotted on. In PR, you all work together. So its better
Steam?
Pissed about BF3 not having mod tools, also?

Re: I like playing PR
Cause you never have a fire fight in the same place of the map and if you do it is always unique in outcome
