Re: Faction feedback
Because it's not PR's Gazelle. Someone from OPK did it we know that the respective guy did a good job. The main effort of a community faction never was to borrow all the stuff from other mods as that is simply nothing challenging. One PM here another there, make a reskin and adjust the code slightly and the model is ingame but thats not what it's meant to be.
It's meant to be like that. A guy models the thing, preferably UV maps and skins it (if he is not able to do all that alone then he has to pass the model to a skinner for example), prepare it for exporting and export it and code it. Now thats roughly the work-flow how it's meant to be. That way we can find new talents. Modelers, skinners, exporters/coders and so on.

Re: Faction feedback
We are modeling free contents for PR, we got one R-COM for FF (And what about the other French Forces Dev members? Should they stay anonymous ?), nobody in the African Faction and we couldn't use the Black Sand STUDIO assets to help us ? It's little hard to understand ?!

Re: Faction feedback
I guess you are misunderstanding it a bit. I didn't mean any particular faction I meant the community factions as a whole. The FF DEVs do a great job no doubt (all of them, Bao was just an example).

Re: Faction feedback
I still think that you got it wrong. I didn't mean any faction in particular ... it was a general statement based on the general course of the community faction modding as a whole.
Sure BSS stuff can be used ... thats not the problem but borrowing too much stuff is not for what these forums were created. Again I didn't say that the French Faction borrows stuff to the contrary I've even made a compliment about the fact that you've created a shit-load of new custom stuff, which is exactly the way to go.
It was just meant as a reminder to all. Don't forget what the community factions are about. They are about a faction created by the community not created by other mod devs and fitted into PR by the community. Thats all I wanted to say.
I can't even remember how exactly I got that off-topic. However WRT your proposal, again I've already stated my point multiple times. The faction will be created with the already stated name and as an unified Africa. Once the faction is done (which will take long enough for only this faction) we can maybe think about splitting it.

Re: Faction feedback
Hi, I have been away for two months, so I'm sorry if this question has already been asked.
I have seen in your design plan (very well built) that you will use the FN FAL for this faction.
I suppose you will use [R-CON]exec_4ever one which is an amazing model.
I know that the retired developper Heavy Z has done the UV of it.(both version the normal and the PARA)
Do you have someone for texturing it ?
We (the French Forces Team) planned to do it when the OGG was still alive...
Edit : I remember that [R-CON]exec_4ever has done the Colt pistol you need, however I don't know the status of this weapon.

Re: Faction feedback
Not likely that they'll do anything directlly related to Darfur since this is a fictional faction. However it could be involved in a similar kind of warfare like in Darfur.HAMAS wrote:İn the mod do you add clash in the darfur

Re: Faction feedback
Two questions I have are about the desert maps/conventional side:
Will this part of the faction have armour and what level of mechanization?
Will they be very lightly equipped or have assets that resemble kashan (with lower technology)?

Re: Faction feedback
no G3's? u HAVE to change that!
i've spoken to a former Sierra Leon child soldier (Ishmael Beah was in LA doing an conference) and he told me that after he survived a battle and killed some enemies he was promoted and given a G3. this is no joke.
it is also in his book "A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier"
ARF G3 = epic win

on topic: i counted 4 PKMs. i saw no RPDs. i think PKM is more used than RPD for machine gunner/support gunner.

Re: Faction feedback
you should have an insane deviation on the rpg for maximum realism like in this video:

[R-DEV]Ninja2dan: Not having a spotter is like masturbating with a cheese grater...mildly amusing at first, but generally painful and bloody in the end.
Thornehaw: If all this have been evidently true, Battlefield is a much scarier and dirtier than ever imagined. Not a conspiracy, but a possibility. If it is true, then trusting another is quite worrisome.

Re: Faction feedback
If so, it's an explosive one
Such a deviation can only come from a munition malfunction or a gunner's error ; or be sure it will be hard to sell, even with people who doesn't know about weapons, they'll not be your customers as long as you want.
Morever, integrate such a deviation in PR and be sure players will curse Devs all map long
