Not sure what this is?

Post by [FH]Ravvie »

Hey guys, Managed to sort out all the other problems i had with PR, so its been working right for a good few months now! :)

The problem being i think is a shader maybe, i got my new Saitek X52 pro joystick the other day and just flying, now iv noticed something while in a Tornado gunners position, the screen is black and white (i get that in some other helos and stuff, i think thats right tho) the other problem is that its a little wobbly.. i was flying with a guy from the states so could it be lagg?.. i vaguely remember the same thing used to happen with me when i scoped up my weapon in FH2 and i remember that it was something to do with shaders?

if anyone could help it would be appreciated :)

i doubt its a shader problem but if it is clearing the bf2 cache could help (delete the contents of the cache folder My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache) -> shaders will reoptimize again

updating drivers might help

fast movement in bf2 tends to be quite wobbly esp. when you have a high ping or your computer is pushing its limits

"black and white screen"?! you mean greyscale and some statics on it... thats the regular gunner cam its supposed to be like this

screen shot would help us alot there

Hey there Snipe

i checked the cache and theres nothing in it? is that normal? i also think what you said with the greyscale is correct, there shouldnt be a problem with the computer as its a high end one that ive just built, any more ideas?

Appreciated :)

the images look perfectly fine, as far as i can tell thats they way its meant to look

there also is some flickering and some statics going on when your in that view, thats normal too

what you should not get is stuttering
that can either relate to your pc having bad performance (you can have a good machine but with the wrong drivers performance can really crappy too)
or its the connection to the server (either your internet connection is slow/has problem) or the server itself has problems too - then other players usually experience the same lag problems

here are some tips to stop the stuttering:

PS: plz refrain from saying "my machine is da l33t, it definitly can handle it" the reason you are supposed to post your system specs is so we can identify possible problems (interfering hw, known problems of hw/drivers and advice you on that)
