Problems with PR
From my time playing in PR i have noticed how effective a good, experienced squad can do to change the situation on the battlefield. But the problem is that its almost impossible to get a full squad of experienced players who actually want to use tactics and teamwork to complete a objective. You always end up with maybe 3-4 max players who will stick with the squad leader, stay with there kits(not going from medic to sniper), know how to use there weapons effectively, and listen to the squad lead like he is god. I know that alot of you die-hard pr gamers know what im talking about. I do not have a solution but i thought id create a brainstorming thread for effective means of establishing a solid squad.

Not to be offensive or anything
1.Join a clan
2.Join a game with at east 3-4 of your clan mates
3.Experienced players should join, sticking to one or two servers helps

Re: Problems with PR
Unfourtunally it's exactly like SkaterCrush said.
Randoms (people who just play like random, they don't want to have a goal, just pick the sniper kit and go hunting) are very common on the public servers, and you only need one random to join your squad and ruin it for you, he will not stay with you, he will not understand your orders (like your clanmates will understand), he will complain about why he should have the medic kit instead of the sniper... etc.
Join a clan, you have plenty of good clans around, and play with your new clanmates, it will be 100x better, clanmates trust each others so they WILL follow you to death if you are their SL, you just need to say "do this" and he will do it, that's the difference between a good day of PR or a bad day of PR.

Re: Problems with PR
this is the number 1 problem with PR. and it happens a lot. now you could join a clan, but that requires commitment and time taken out of your personal life.Boommelonshot wrote:From my time playing in PR i have noticed how effective a good, experienced squad can do to change the situation on the battlefield. if you dont have the time to reserve, then here is my advice:
1. get a microphone if you dont already have one
2. go to realityteamwork.com and register on the forums.
3. download mumble using the guide provided on the website
4. play on either the EU or US RT servers, using mumble
5. add friend all the people you have good games with on xfire
without RT and mumble, i had 1 in every 10 games that was amazing. 1 in 5 were ok.
with RT, mumble, and xfire friends, i have 1:1 (or on a bad day 1:2) amazing games
trust me, i dont have the time to commit to a clan (ive tried before) and many times the clan doesnt turn out to be "all that"
(most of the time) you will not be disappointed using mumble on the RT servers.

Agreed. I'm currently getting tired of bening with random people. I do not mind bening medic but I keep getting stuck as SL and I try and I try but most of the time I'm stuck here alone.

Re: Problems with PR
You do NOT need to join a clan or whatever, though it helps. Being a regular on your favourite server also helps.
I squad lead all the time because I cannot be bothered with bad squad leaders. So I lead so I can do what I want tbh. (but what I want is to work with the team, so it works out
)
Now, the trick is simple. If they don't do what you tell them, tell them again. If they don't do what you tell them then, kick them.
You are not their babysitter. If they cannot follow simple instructions, they have no place in your squad or even the server. If All squad leaders do the same, that person will have to leave the server and the server's gameplay becomes better as a result. let them migrate to a server that doesn't demand teamwork.
Certain servers have iron clad rules to help you, xfire an admin tell him a SM is repeatedly not following orders and a !k won't be far behind.
if you are a SM in a bad squad. leave and join another or make your own. If the SL of the squad isn't even trying to lead, then an admin will be more than happy to remove him.

Re: Problems with PR
I find that if one follows, the others will too. I do see my squadleader as god, especially familiar names. Just do whatever he orders and the rest will follow. You're a veteran player Boommelonshot, been in a squad with you a few times on BF2 back in the day, why haven't you found those servers where there's always good teamplayers? Because those servers exist.

Re: Problems with PR
A familiar name is nice but the worst are names you either can't pronounce in any way, or you feel wierd doing so.
Especially as a squad leader, the wierd names reduce effectiveness, if only because your family looks at you all wierd when you're like "|-|4MS4NDW1C|-|...uuhhh...ham sandwich, thanks for the revive man."
