Have u updated drivers?
Does ur system match the right system requirements?
Does your normal battlefield 2 work?
Use the PR desktop icon not bf2v icon.

Re: my game wont start up!
I'm playing PSRP on a "retro" machine running XP (HP Pavilion a1130n w/3gigs RAM), and have found that problems I've encountered are often remedied with routine procedures.
Have you checked your cpu for adbots and viruses? Sometimes an undesirable cookie can have an effect on some programs...
Have you used BF2 cleaner? CCleaner? When was the last time you defragged?
Did you install the BF2 1.5 patch?
From what I understand, if you install it on your original copy, you can be screwed; I've read that the original BF2 should be copied and renamed, and that the new copy is where you want to install BF2 1.5 patch so that you won't have any issues - (did I get that right, fellas?)
Hope this helps!

Re: my game wont start up!
to fix ctd on bf2 start up after it has worked for a while already
if you have got a new monitor the frequency might still be set to that of the old one and your new monitor is incompatible with that one (esp. when changing from a CRT [usually 60 to 120Hz] to an LCD/TFT [usually 60 to 75Hz] monitor)
in "My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\000x" is a file named "Video.con"
it could look something like this:

you should change the red marked frequency to what the monitor supports (consult manual) for example 60Hz is supported by all regular monitors afaik:Video.con wrote:VideoSettings.setTerrainQuality 2

VideoSettings.setLightingQuality 2
VideoSettings.setDynamicLightingQuality 2

Can you see the disk and/or open it?
To run Pr/BF2 without a CD/DVD in the drive:
You don't need to have the cd/DVD in the drive to play, just
down load a mini disk image of bf2 with torrent
mount it with DAEMON Tools Lite or Virtual CloneDrive
You must have the game installed. All the mini does is let you play without a real CD/DVD in the drive.
You need to mount the image to desktop.
To do so
Start daemon tools light,
it will put a icon in the system tray.
Rick click on icon and choose 'emulation',
all options on and click it.
Open icon again(right click) this time go to top of pop up window,
choose Daemon tools panel,click it.
It puts a tool bar above the system tray.
On the left side just after Daemon search you should see the 'mount'n drive manager'
click it.
In the window that opens you should see a row of icons on the lower half.
The first one on the left is 'add file' click it.
Navigate to your mini disk image (bf2mini-ski.mds or minibf2.iso) and
click on it to add it to window.
Once it's it in the window, click on it to select it
then click on the 'mount' icon.
You should now be able to see what image is in the virtual drive '0' on the right side of daemon tools panel.
That's it you should be able to play now.
The image will be there (in the 'mount'n drive manager')next time you reboot
so you don't need to 'mount' it after a reboot.
Good luck
