[v.0874] PR freezes on main menu

PR freezes after I log in, can't click on the menu on the left, must alt+ctrl+del to stop the game. I did I clean install, patches and PR and all my drivers are updated. I have the CD version of BF2.

PC specs: Windows 7, Intel Quad Core @ 2.4, 2GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX.

same here it either will go to main and just freeze i can move the mouse around but cant click onything, and someitmes it wont even go onto log in screen arggh im getting annoyed lol i downloaded and istalled the full 1.9gb 1.5 patch then installed the 13mb pr patch? seems a bit low to me but i dunno, heres something though after installation of new patch i accidentally clicked on the old 0.86 shortcut to open the game instead of the 0.87, after realising i closed the old one well more like restarted my machine due to freezing up then deleted the shortcut and now try to open with new shortcut still nothing

A main PR server is down. This server used for various things in the main menu such as the news ticker. It is trying to load the news ticker, but it is not timing out in a timely fashion, hence it's just a black screen.

There is no fix, other than wait for this server to come back up.

i hope this isnt a sign for things to come, so are all servers empty now or is it only a few of us having this prob? any ideas on how long it will take?
