Someone please explain?

Post by Acelondoner »

how do you use the 'GTLD'? I zoom in on an enemy tank for example and click laser target or whatever it is and it does nothing? Or i will zoom in on a target and click area attack, (again can't remember the exact name) and it does nothing? This is in both pr and prsp. If someone could explain, i would appreciate it! Thanks in advance :) ACE

Laser target is for jets/helicopters. You hold left click for a few seconds, and that will set the laser. Then press T and click "lasing target" or whatever to inform the jet/helo that you have done so. In order to use area attack, you need a commander. You pull up your GLTD, click "need area attack" and this request is sent to the commander. If he accepts it, the JDAM/Mortar attack commences.

When you take out ur GLTD, you point at the target, and left click. A green box should appear. It takes about 3-5 seconds for the lazer to actually stick though. I the target is moving you wont be able to laze it. Some people know how to laze moving targets by point ahead 3-4 seconds of where the target is going to be, and as the target passes by the laze, it catches on.

You do not need to keep ur GLTD on the target, once its lazed you can move on. The laze will stay tehre for 30 seconds.

That laze will stick for 30 seconds only. You do not need to keep updating. It pisses people off, and it messes up an attack run. Onces its lazed, let it stay that way. Unless ur about to lose sight of the target, and the incoming plane to take it out is JUST starting to turn in for the attack, then it might be a good idea to relaze, so after it dissapears from ur view, the plane has an extra 30 seconds to get it.

Please, for the love of god, if your going to laze something, you MUST report where ur lazing. Grid and kpd location are vital for pilots, or else they wont know where to attack.

Ok, thanks guys, i understand now :) Is there anyway to get area attack in single player (PRSP)? I'm assuming you can't as you need a commander but could someone just classify it so i know for sure. Thanks ACE

As far as PRSP goes - I've seen the bots using area attacks. And I think you can request them too, just as usual. Look at a target, chose "area attack" and if you're lucky, the AI accepts and blows the area up.

I have seen bots using area attacks but every time i request an area attack, it says it is unavailable due to not having a commander :(

hmm. I've seen it working when requested by a player. No idea what's up with that.
