Tougher Sanctions for Teamkilling

Post by 503 »

The punishment for teamkilling is not enough IMO. I mean, killing a friendly solider definitely is worse than killing a civilian IRL.
Currently, if you tk someone, all you get is a barely longer respawn and you can't request any limit kits.

A quick suggestion would be to instant kill the teamkiller, simulating a court martial. This would make players more obliged to confirm their targets before shooting and also make griefing harder.

If someone does unintentionally tk a friendly, it would be their own fault for not throughly identifing the target. The only problem I see here is with the insurgent grenade traps always killing insurgents. If you have a better suggestion, please post it.

Accidents happen. Maybe only if the TK is punished.

How do you expect that would play out if you do a danger close air strike and you hit a friendly, then what? Lose the jet for 15 minutes?

Or commander issuing a mortar strike that hits one soldier who did not make it out of hot zone fast enough.

TKs are an unfortunate part of war, IRL, and in game. People generally feel bad when they TK and they apologize for it, you should expect nothing less. If it was on purpose, bring it up with a server admin.

Go play on server with active admins and you have penalties for teamkilling.

People stand on top off vehicles, run over clearly marked friendly mines, run into grenade traps, run into target zones, you get bad lazes on friendly units, etc etc - the list goes on.

All of these are pretty unavoidable for the TKer, and should imo not get that person killed instantly.

It's better to leave it as it is and play on a server with good admins that banish those that TK on purpose.

There is now no punishment other than killing a civilian that results in a reduction of overall score. I'm not sure why this was implemented but it doesn't really make any sense, it makes it much easier to see the griefers when they have a huge negative score.

I think theres a system in place
2 punished TK's and your score is reset to 0.

I forget exactly what it was though...

Very few people in PR care about points ;)

I think that this will be harsh on accidental TKs.

Civkills happen often on purpose. Teamkills are mostly accidents, and if they are not, the player should simply be kicked.

There is no need for huge teamkill punishments. Teamkillers that kill on purpose are not part of the game anymore and should be removed, not punished ingame.

Hooaah...

I can see teams getting needlessly punished on account of a smacktard joining a game for the sake of creating mayhem if such rules were employed.

Methinks it best to go to the Admin.
