So, you cumulate points by killing, transporting, capping, defending, healing, giving amo, reviving etc. For this suggestion to work, maybe the system could be tweaked or changed but it also works as it is. Respawn times could be lowered to static 15 or 20 seconds.
Main idea of the suggestion is, if you are wounded and you give up, it wastes x amount of points. If you give up in 3 seconds after the 5 min countdown starts, you lose 60 points, 6 seconds 59, 9 seconds 58, so after about 3 minutes you wouldnt suffer any negative points. Once your points reach zero, or negative or a state when you are not able to waste so much points, you cannot respawn and have to wait the whole 5 minute period. If you die before "no point penalty" period, you loose all of the 60 points.
So, squads on the main front do most of the work, thus get many points, and also die often, on the other hand, snipers do long range work and cumulate low amount of points, but they dont die so often so they dont really need them. Vehicle drivers die inside if blown up, and they cumulate quite large amount of points so there is no relevancy to this system really.
Positive effect: More realistic gameplay, probably slower too, more defending, tactics, you have a life worth something, if another squadmember doesnt keep up with points, your task will be to go find and revive him if you want to have an extra guy, point whores will be happy...
Negative effect: Whole team must co-operate, to gain enough points to continously attack an enemy position (if they want to rush), or they need to know when to defend when points are low...(not really a negative effect, but on public matches...you know...)
Ill probably add more stuff as it goes onward because i forgot some things
EDIT: Oh, and i dont believe its hardcoded as in Georgian Conflict mod, or something like that, you buy weapons with points...here you'll buy your life wth them. And the numbers given are just to show examples.
