3rd person views
3rd person views in vehicles are nice to look at, but a mod trying to be a realistic as possible may want to take them out. If your tank has a small porthole to look out of then switching to 3rd person to see more could be eliminated
or is that going to far?

well my opinon would be that i wouldnt like that, it just wouldnt be "fun" theres a fine line from realistic "fun" and just way to techical but it still would be fun if ceratain servers have the choise to enable or disable

ok speaking about heat rounds ect dont they have a round that useing heat its self to burn, and it's mucery tip or somthing like that and if you pass the tanks after they were distroyed there was radition posioning it was in the gulf war if a remember correctly

lol, nonono HEAT is High Explosive Anti Tank..theres nothing hot about it
....well besides teh explosion but...well then everything is hot that travels fast.
I had a really good slide show explaining how HEAT mines work. It uses the same principle in RPGs and shells aswell.
See theres an explosion when the round hits an object. Now picture the explosion a bit like a nuke sideways. The explosion will have a huge rotating cloud aorund the sides after it detonated creating an EXTREMELY high force in the centre the size of a pniprick(compared to the whole explosion area).
After the shell hits you will see some black scuff marks around the impact with one tiny hole in the middle that goes straight into the tank and through the armour killing the crew inside and or damaging the weapons. Im trying ot find something that has a REAL guid to how it works since my discription is pretty shitty
-edit-
bah im tired and cant find anything about it atm. If you can pull up a daigram of a HEAT explosion with pressure scan imagey thingy itl all make perfect sence...since i dont have one you'll have to do without for now. Since its 3:30am and i cant give you a very good duide atm

You're thinking of depleted uranium penetrators. They're just so dense and traveling so fast that they punch right through armor.snipurs wrote:ok speaking about heat rounds ect dont they have a round that useing heat its self to burn, and it's mucery tip or somthing like that and if you pass the tanks after they were distroyed there was radition posioning it was in the gulf war if a remember correctly

The round pretty much is a gaint blowtorch that breaks through the outer layer then sends molten inside the tank.

Hmm well thats not the pic i was talking about. Thats a weard one.... So their saying its actually a blob that goes in and burns you?
Well what i was saying is that the swirling motion created by the spead of the shell and the outwards explosion in turn creates an extremely high pressure entry point which blows through the armour...I gues it is also bloody hot which helps penetration....but it is in the middle of an explosion so its going to be pretty hot anyway right?
-edit-
youknow what ignore this im doubting this more and more.. I think this is just a mine thing...but it would make sence. I'm pretty sure there are a few other actions that take place at the same time for it to get such good penetration.

The idea is that the round blasts through the armor in a manner which simply ejects extremely hot material into the center, killing everyone inside. The point isn't to blow up the tank with explosives, instead it's to crack through the hard armor to rip apart the gooey insides.
Also, please note that DU (Depleted Uranium) rounds are hardly radioactive at all - like the name implies, they are DEPLETED, and are no longer radioactive, like the enriched uranium used in weapons or in nuclear reactions. In fact, the burning of fossil fuels which occurs every day all over the world emits far more radioactive material per year than all of the radioactive material introduced to the envrionment by humans put together.

I meant whats so "high explosive" about a blob that just manages to go through armour? That previous pic of the bang and blob of yellow stuff going in hardly explained much.
Although YES the excess heat kills people and destroys machenery inside i am asking what provides the penetration to punch through how many inches of solid armour?!
