Starting with version .86 and continuing with .87, I'm having an issue where PR will not load up. I can install it fine, I've reinstalled the game, did the patches in order, reinstalled PR and all that, but the issue remains the same. I double click the shortcut, the little hourglass pops up beside the pointer for a couple seconds then disappears. I've also checked in the task manager and it shows pr.exe pop up for a few seconds then disappear. Anyone else have this issue or a possible fix for it?

In both your cases it seems like its BF2 that is having problems launching. Can you look in your mods/pr directory and find a file called pr.log and post its contents if it is there ?
If there was no BF2 found , or one of the other problems then pr.exe should quit with an error that will identify the problem. But if it opens and closes as if everything was normal , then it means its getting a quit() command called from the BF2 engine. If this is the case then you should have a log file that gets stored, as the pr.exe will have continued its operation as normal and shut down as if the game was shut down. If this log file is not there, then it means that the pr.exe has encountered an abnormal condition and shut down. If this is the case then there will be errors produced, and maybe you have to turn on windows reporting, or run in windowed mode to get the error readout to pop up.

Re: pr .86/.87 not starting
i didn't find a pr.log file. Also, I can't run it in windowed mode because nothing pops up. When I double-click the shortcut or the file itself, I see my desktop only. No black screen or anything.

You can run it in windowed mode by setting the parameter +fullscreen 0 in the shortcut.
