ACOG size

Post by Vitiation »

So something that has allways grinded my gears is the size of the acog.
I know that the models of pr is accurat and made based out of refference photos.

But, i also know that in 1st peron the scope allways looks oversized and that not something the Devs can fix.

My suggestion is scaling down all the scopes in PR to make it look okey, cause imo it really looks redicilous right now.

Any thoughts?

See this: ACOG Reticle - Project Reality Forums

Edit - compared with: http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd15 ... 112024.png

Edit #2 - You are talking about the reticle right?

Im not talking about the reticle, i meant the model itself.

Compared to the size of the gun, its waaaay too big.

The proportions are all wrong, look at how much forearm is visible in PR to how much of the weapon.

I think it looks more or less in proportion, though the rear of it looks a bit big, I think the M16 series in game look too thick though, comparing it to the airsoft M16 SPR I had (which is around a few mm wider than the real deal).

You see the problem is not the 3rd person, they all look perfect in 3rd

The problem is in 1st person. thats where things look weird.

Sorry for Double post

yeah the bst solution for this is what insurgency did with their ironsights.. but due to the engine limitations i dont think its possible. and if it is it hasnt been done for some reason like it wouldnt play right or look wierd whatever the case.. yeah i like the suggestion because it makes the sight a little more realistic.. but at the same time not so much.. when looking through a scope you dont limit your view to just what is through the sights

Proportions are fine. It's because of a 70 degree field of view, whereas in real life you're usually viewing about 120, 90 in clear view. This gives the effect of "tunnel vision" making everything attached to the first person camera look very large.

It might be better for balance and game play if the 1 person view was scaled down, Giving you less Field of view.

this will make Reflex sight better in terms of short range engagement's,

Less field of view? It's already too low, as has been stated.

Aimpoints and irons are already better in terms of short range engagements.
