Also, maybe put a marker on the map of the UAV's location for friendlies and the commander so you know where it is, so your not getting lost for half the time.

+1

If you've got the time, please let is just spawn or SOMETHING on a certain location so I don't have to fly around for ages trying to figure out where I am (Muttrah is killer as USMC). And (I know, I'm just so demanding) would you please have an auto pilot mode that just orbits a certain, user set location while we use the side mounted camera to look at whats going on.

And, I've already suggested this...hellfires Work it out so it doesn't ruin game play, but so that it is there as an invaluable "ace in the hole" for a team.

Thanks for dealing with me

1 camera, 360' angle view to every direction = not hard to make = win
Make UAV to turn with buttons "A" and "D" ( add single click to report targets)

P.S
It is possible to have zoom on it like almost every camera in game.

Im surprised the people want to put some better views on the UAV. Arent you afraid that a random CO flight will detect your behind enemy lines manoevre? If you make it easier to spot things, its going to be a lot harder to do flanking operations and battle formations because theres always "god" watching and telling the troops your flanking.

It's not that amazing, even in Kashan desert, the barest of maps in PR, I could only spot one enemy tank in the time the UAV was up. Mind you, it's posibly due to the long time it takes the UAV to get there, but w/e.

Aside from views, the only thing I dislike about the UAV is that it is undetecatble, so the "all-seeing eye of god" argument has some credit to it. Preferably, it would be at a higher level (Or lower depending on the map in question's VD), and would have the UAV model and some sort of engine sound attached to it.

While it's possible to code it to be shot down, I'm not sure how that would translate ingame at it's current height, or whether and how it would be done if wanted. Because really, UAVs should be loitering at huge heights making them more or less undetectable by most units and fairly immune to any ground based fire (excluding SAMs and MANPADs I guess, though). If shooting down the UAV was ingame, though, it'd probably go down the same horrible fate as helicopters, loitering at the ceiling of the sky, being shot at by tanks and IFVs.

McLuv: Yea my arguments are based on what Ive heard. I havent had the chance to play a proper game as CO yet. I imagine being it more of a problem when ure defending ure last flag and or on the smaller map where you are at the enemy positions quicker than on Kashan.

EDIT:
But when I see things like this I kinda worry about this new toy:

I suppose the firebase still does it job, area deny'ing of choppers. In the "old" days choppers would fly over and get shot down, alerting the other choppers not to go there if the team is good enough. Now the CO alerts the team of the AA there and they wont come over as well. So the effect is the same, its more the thought of the god eye like I said earlier.

Trajectory from a Trajectory?

Why does the Hellfire have to be on the UAV. I'm thinking about how fire base assets are built. This wee little white dot comes down out of no where and poof! you have an asset that needs to be dug in (Now that's a whole lot of realism, but then again I couldn't do any better).

Do I have to think of Everything?

(I feel like Tug Benson from the Hot shots movies. No time for prayer Bob!)

Anyway, just spawn the little terd (the hellfire) near or around the UAV and have it SCREAM down, well, like Hellfire.

Meh, it's not the fact that it can easily spot rather obvious positions and continue giving reports on them; because that's realistic. It's the fact that despite it being able to do so the spotted enemy has no chance to even see the UAV as it is invisible, and can therefore not take any tactical/stratgic decisions to compensate for that.

IF you would put the UAV high up in the air, it would really need zoom + if you want it to be so high in the air thats nearly invisible, you wouldnt be able to see on the ground clearly...
