alright, here's the problem, i had pr .86 working good, and i downloaded pr .87 and the bf2 1.5 patch. i installed both in this order : bf2 patch, Pr patch. when i tried to launch pr ,it didn't work, same thing with bf2, so i desinstalled Pr, and when i tried to reinstalled it, it told me that i needed to have .86 installed, so i went on project reality website to download .86, AND I COULDN'T FIND IT ANYWHERE ON THE WEB!!!!!, so pls, ifyou can tell me where to find .86 and help me with my launching problem i would like it much

Uhm, I don't really think that'll solve your problem. Maybe you should manually remove the files, but you'd better wait for advise from people who know more about that than me^^

If you didn't have earlier version of PR installed you need to download a full install.

Download Client(Core) and Client(Levels) and install them. Core first, then Levels.

Download the full .87 you gain NOTHING from downloading .86
Even if you already downloaded the patch the .86 full install files are as big as .87

Ah, now I understand the whole problem. Yes, you'll need the full PR 0.87 download if you had deleted PR 0.86. I thought you still had it since you said "i had pr .86 working good". I still don't think that has anything to do with BF2 Vanilla not starting, though, but yeah, try downloading the full .87 version.

i encountered a not running BF2 and PR0.874 on XP when updating to 1.50final and the 0.86 -> 0.874 patch, only way to solve was uninstalling everything BF2 related, delete all Registry entries and do a complete BF2 -> 1.141 -> 1.50final -> Pr0.874 full install - now it's fine (with Alt-Tab hotfix too)

Hopefully Under Administrator, You Installed BF2/PR Under Control Panel, Add/Remove Software,
Window's Will Do The Rest [Wizard], It Know's What Changes Were Made To Your Registry.
I Could Be Wrong, There Might Be A BF2 Uninstall.exe.
Check Your BF2/PR Folders/File For A Uninstall.exe 1st, None Located, Go For Add/Remove Programs,
All Software Should Be Installed Under Administrator.

I used Revo Uninstaller to fix this game. Completely removed all my PR/BF2 files from my program files folder and deleted the registry keys with Revo Uninstaller. It worked perfectly. I was able to download all the 0.874 files and the 1.5 vanilla patch before I did this. Just Install all the BF2 stuff you have on your BF2 disk, reboot,full patch to 1.41, reboot then install 1.5, reboot and test 1.5, then install 0.874 core, reboot, and finally install 0.874 levels. This is the process I went through. Took a day to download and a day to install. I played perfectly for about 5 hours yesterday with no problems. Except the CD-Key on BF2:SF.
