Mic Problem

Post by general_Lee_USA »

My system.
Core 2 Duo E8400.
Abit P-35 mobo
9800GTX
2GB DDR2 system memory
600watt corsair ps
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
windows xp pro sp3

Ok I am having a very strange issue with my mic. I just bought it and it works fine when I run the mic test from the PR game menu, as well as the sound hardware test wizard from windows. However it does not transmit anything once I enter a game/squad. I have tried double clicking the mute button from the alt- manage tab but it doesnt let me put an x down in the square. I have made sure that the microphone is unmuted in the windows sound icon just before the map finishes loading. I have updated my latest sound card drivers. My mic just refuses to work once I enter a game. I have it along with my headphones plugged into the front port of my PC.

Any ideas of what could be the problem?

Not able to use VoIP.
In game,
did you try pressing tab, right click to activate mouse and click manage, then mute and unmute yourself? That seems to work most of the time.

BF2 voip work OK?

Yeah I can hear other people just fine. And I tried the mute/unmute option under the tab/manage/right click but it doesn't do anything.

General_Lee_USA,
Have you tried deleting the default mike bind and make a new one?
Also I've read Creative does a piss poor job of removing/uninstalling drivers, Often leaving corrupted files behind. The fix is to use a 3party app to remove all of Creative's drivers, then install the newest.
Sorry I can't remember what the name of it was.
Perhaps someone can recommend one for you.

Iguanadjy,
When asking for help,
please remember to post your:
O/S,
systems specks,
network setup
And a brief history before and after problem started.
Please describe when your CTD or problem hits and
what you have already tried.

If your using Vista
Make sure 'mike boost' is checked in windows and in game settings.
Good luck

Are you using the default keyboard button? Or a mouse button?
