A few very minor details that Add to the experience
Minor suggestions by the way but as Pr gets more an more refined to a more and more realistic experience i think its important to get in these little things.
After all when a good reviewer talks about a game, they tend not to talk about the obvious things like map size but about little details, like the way the casings come out of the rifle and the attention to detail shown.
1.) 3D peep hole for trans Apc's
If you played Battlefiled Bad comapny you may know what i mean the peep hole in the trans apc's on that has an elemt of 3D to it. It is a 3D view where when you look to the left and right you are looking at the left and right sides of the peep hole. Its very hard to explain and i cant find any videos showing but ill keep looking.
2.) C4 model Changes
The current C4 model spells vanilla all over it. Could we have it a white putty rather than green. Also it should look slightly more straight edged square.
3.)Red lights and Siren when shot down
Can we also get some red lights and noise when a Trans helicopter is going down. Currently when im flying and am hit by AA. It almost feels as if im lagging when im going down. Some flashing red lights and sirens would be nice in adding to the experience of a crash.
4.) More smoke from burning vehicles
I understand that more smoke = More lag but can some tests be done becasue this would be a very viceral element to the battlefield. It doesnt have to be as thick as the oil well smoke on Kashan but a thin trail stretching into the sky is better than a little thick stump we have at the moment.
5.) Sparks with backblast smoke
YouTube - Afghanistan Combat Footage .50 cal & AT4
6.) Grenade handle fly off
Emphasis seem to be on pulling out the pin, though the handle flying off is the actual begining of the explosion. Could we have it fly off mid flight like the casings from a rifle then stay on the ground for a few seconds before dissapearing.
7.) Weapons on Backs
Not quite sure if its possible but currentky if i was to switch to my pistol my main weapon would dissapear. Is there some way of making it appear on ones back when a different weapon or item is selected like the AT-4 launcher, then dissapear when they pull out the weapon again.
Ok if this doesnt work, then can we at least have more variation in the kit's? Medic and Officer stand out which is goo imo, but maybe we could have more kits with backpacks or a wire coming out of the top or something that makes things look a bit more varied.
8.) Sprint bar thread, unresolved

All sounds good to me although I don't think 7 is possible in this engine.

yes, change C4 models. 3 and 6 would be so 1337. and immersive.

Those are all excellent suggestions - especially one about the red light and siren, when transport helicopter is shot and going down.

1. 3d peep hole would be cool. but maybe not possible with BF2 engine.
2. C4 - dont care. Ive never used C4 in PR.
3. red lights and sirens when going down in a helicopter would be really cool. just make sure the passengers hear it too. maybe even put smoke or small fires where the pilots/passengers are sitting.
4. more smoke for dead vehicles = epic immersion.
5. sparks from large caliber bullets' impacts = epic immersion
6. grenade handle coming off is blah
7. to add a weapon on the back (like a rifle when a grenade is in your hand) i think requires a whole new player model, which is ALOT of work

Medics should be able to drop more than one Patch at a time.

Why not replace the medic's field dressings with a special medic FD, which heals twice the ammount of an normal FD ? Or just give the Medic like 14 FDs.

Re: A few very minor details that Add to the experience
Ok currently the RPGs and stuff of backs in vbf2 are part of the model. So even though your holding a weapon the models not going to change. To solve this you must make the parts of the kit part of the weapon model. So if im using a M4 the weapon model would be the M4 in hands, medic bag on my back, epipens on my chest, etc. Then for the epipens i would have to have it so the epipens would disapear as part of the weapon model but the m4 would now be on your back. Also im not sure if this would mean the rest of the weapons on there move in the sprint or when your moving or if you can make them as still (maybe some movment animations) as possible. It would require a massive load of work so its anywere from minor. Every kit would have to get certian weapons. There would be a medic M4, Riflemen m4, squad leader m4, etc. There is nothing minor when it comes down to this.

I definitely like the idea of the lights and alarms going off when a helo is going down. +1 for that

He has started to think and is therefore dangerous.

Regarding number 2, the "white putty" you have probably seen in movies is actually not what you will be using in the field. The M112 demolition charges we use comes in a green plastic seal, and that is exactly what you will leave the explosive material in when deploying it. Yes, Comp-B is white-ish, but as it is being used in game it should remain in the wrapper. That green wrapper has double-sided tape to allow sticking to other objects, and the color of the packaging allows it to remain concealed better. You aren't going to have real military soldiers with a glob of white play-do molding it into a lump like the movies. You peel the tape, slap it to the obstacle, insert cap, and prime it.Tarantula wrote: 2.) C4 model Changes

As for #5, already been suggested.

And for #6, I personally don't think it would be necessary. Anyone near a grenade being thrown should be eating dirt, not watching the fuze assembly. I'm not saying it's impossible to add, but I would rather see work done on more important aspects than something that people might notice 2% of the time.
