YOu need the grey thingy under because of slopes and so on. if you remove it you will have sandbags floating in the air on uneven terrain.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

I agree that SL should be able to put them anywhere but there should be a limit. Or maybe even one per soldier. I also think it would be nice to have stages of fox hole development. Like stage 1 is just a sleeping hole that you can lie in and not get shot, stage 2 is the fox hole now, stage 3 is a fighting position with wood and sandbags on the top and firing holes. Stage 4 maybe a type of bunker. And each stage would require more dig time, and I mean lots of dig time for the top 2 stages, if thats even possible.

If that can be properly implemented, hells yeah thermis.

IMO if there is a supply crate nearby than yes by all means foxholes should be a squad leader deployable, otherwise I suspect we'll end up with dodgy "foxholes" placed around the place.

Aka makeshift roadblocks/walls in seconds. ;)

Foxholes are usually found in a base like facility, much like .50 cal emplacements, so it makes sense they are outpost bound.

yeah, I like this idea. but heres the thing:

Foxh(ills) should be something like this (without the whole mud around it, just the sandbags.

Also some litte cover behind (to look cool)

Holy thread bump Batman!

They're making foxholes awesome in the next release, so we'll wait and see.

If you have an OP or FOB you're going to have HESCO bunkers, mortar pits, and some other earthworks not foxholes. Foxholes are the result of soldiers digging in at their position when halted for long periods of time. Longer they sit in the same spot the more dug in there will become. A foxhole can be built with a e-tool and e-tool alone so the solider him self can do it. Any outpost defenses would require front loaders. So it doesn't make sense IMO that they should be tied to outposts.
