Do British medics often wear boonie hats and do both medics and squad leaders usually go without helmets in combat situations? Just seems a bit odd to me. Considering how OTT our government can often be with regard to safety issues, this choice of headwear comes across as decidedly un-British

Concerning the British Army headwear
Quick question about the choice of headwear for the British Army squad leader and medic (I've searched and found nothing under titles for "headwear" or "beret".)

Re: Concerning the British Army headwear
When the British army models were made it was still usual for British troops to wear soft hats while out on operations. The situation has now changed, but its an entirely cosmetic change and so is low prioity
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
