random lag

i randomly get lag while playing singleplayre. It will be running fine then it begins to lag up any ideas. this ends with a ctd.

Please describe when your CTD or problem hits and
what you have already tried.

I'll guess reducing your settings in game should help
or getting more ram
and/or defrag HD
and/or increase virtual ram
and/or using a 3 party app to shutdown unneeded background services
Spending $3,00.00 US for a new computer will improve you gaming experience too.
I have found checking out the tweak guides
to be a valuable resource for getting the most out of what you have through a better understanding of how PC components work.
