BF2 1.5 Patch Error

When i try to install 1.5 for BF2:

I get

An error [-5004:0x80070005] has occurred while running the setup.

Please make sure you have finished any setups and closed other applications.
If the error still occurs, please contact your vendor: Electronic Arts

Can anyone help me here?

i'd say that file is corrupted, try redownloading it (or alternativley "resume" with a download mangager or torrent client to not have to redownload the complete thing but only the corrupted parts)

Dl'd from 3 different sources, and still not working. I'm sure the downlod is not at fault

can you tell us the size of those archives ?

check out they must be like 2gb NOT LESS...

i'll recomend to go torrent.. PM me i'll send you torrent that download at minimum 300kbps you'll have like in a hour

What size is the 1.5 patch you downloaded?
Should be 2,019,059KB

Did you check your not using the 'beta' 1.5 patch?

Have you downloaded the 1.5 patch using a 'Torrent' download client as suggested?

you need a torrent managment program.. like bitcomet o bittorrent !!!!!

I like BitTorrent
Once it's downloaded, it can take up to 10 or more minuets for the installer to open once you chick on it. ( it's over 2 gigs)

I know the download is not at fault here. I've dl'd from over 5 reputable sources and all fail. I need more suggestions, i really am at a loss here.

this is the closest I could find, but its about installing bf2 rather than updating it. Maybe its related?

Same error when trying to uninstall.

Well, pretty much my last cry for help, i've pretty much given up PR, nothing up to this point has worked, i have deleted the application files of BF2 but the install directories still exist and i cannot uninstall BF2.
