Re: Problem requirements
Processor might be the problem, 2,8ghz single processor might not be enough nowadays even for PR. But also did you check your ping on the servers where you were playing ? Most of the servers might lag when playing from pakistan because of the distance between your computer and the server computer.

I thought BF2 worked off only one core anyway.[R-DEV]Deer wrote:Processor is the problem, 2,8ghz single processor isnt enough nowadays.

other thing is slow processor=your videocard wont work on full force, so even he has powerful one it is also slowed down[R-CON]Outlawz wrote:I thought BF2 worked off only one core anyway.

Re: Problem requirements
Ram and graphic card looks ok anyway, and its not lagging much except on muttrah, so it looks like it would be processor, but ofc it could be ping too.[R-CON]Outlawz wrote:I thought BF2 worked off only one core anyway.

Re: Problem requirements
boosting that proc won't help that much with that small cache, you might try to O/C your PCIe to 105/110 Mhz max in Bios - if you do so set fanspeed for graphiccard to manual and around 45-50% speed in CCC.
But i suggest to get a small Core2Duo as your socket is LGA775 and later some faster (PC2-6400) Ram.

Re: Problem requirements
Is your lag a connection lag or game lag? Do you mean you get rubber-banding or glitchy gameplay or is your lag more like the game freezes up or sticks?
My system is about the same as yours, and on medium settings I have minimal lag.
If you look at my profile and choose the system specs tab, you can see that my system is almost the same. My processor is a little better, but I'm still only running it at 2.2GHz, and only 1024MB RAM. My video card is also 512MB, but I think it's a bit newer model than yours. I don't recall my connection speed, but I think it's the 10MB service (pretty sure I dropped the 20MB). What can I say, I built this PC around 5 years ago.
I can see a 1.5MB connection being a problem at times for causing lag, but that would be a connection lag and not a system lag. If you see people rubber-banding or warping around the screen, but your computer seems to be running smoothly other than that, I would say it's connection-based lag. The rest of your specs aren't too bad, especially on low settings, but if you see your game actually freezing up or stuttering then that's probably system lag more than connection lag. You might need to upgrade your processor a little bit, and maybe get a newer video card while you're at it. Unless you need a new motherboard, either of those upgrades is not too expensive. You might also want to look at the speed of your RAM. Is it DDR, DDR2? Are you running PC3200's? That can also make a difference.

yours is much faster (1024KB L2 Cache just makes a difference)
Games against CPUs. Part II. (page 3) - X-bit labs
I suggest OP should go for a C2D 5200 or similar

Re: Problem requirements
1. Im sure its not a connection problem. I used to play with my friends who has worse connection than mine but much better PC.[R-DEV]Ninja2dan wrote:Is your lag a connection lag or game lag? . Is it DDR, DDR2?
2. Im useing DDR2
From the beggining I tought that proc is the reason of thos damn lags but its good 2 have opinion of others...sometimes
Thank you all for propositions and answers how to solve the problem
