Move it to SATA2 and make sure that it's enabled in the BIOS, then you will need to format it to use it, are you on Vista or XP?

Edit: Just realised it would be becase it will only have unallocated space, bear with me while I write up how to partition it.

Start > Right click my computer > Manage > Storage > Disk management

The physical drives will show on the bottom with the volumes shown up top.

The new drive (Disk 1) should have 160GB unallocated space, right click on that space and click "New" then set it to the max size available, tick "Quick format" then hit OK.

Let it format the drive then it will appear in My Computer.

Not sure, when I install my games I just change the path when it gives me the option.

Are you using Steam by any chance?

I don't understand the reason to install games on another hard drive.

Having 56MB on system partition (HDD) is not enough - prolly you should delete some temporary files.

Most games look for their install path into registry or an .ini file, so if you move them you'll have to set their path.

Games on second disc:
Looks like a habit from old times when discs were small and all parts of games were in one folder. Some old "hints" are repeated and repeated even if they don't make sense anymore, "i have heard that it's better to..."

As most games store stuff in User space too it only makes sense when more than one PC is using the games... ;-)

Nowadays i'd better put a 5GB first (primary) partition with a 4096 swap file on second disc and the rest a storage one.

I myself use different OSses on different discs/partititions with multiboot and shared swaps.

Got my games + programs on a separate partition so I can re-install etc my OS without having mega problems, plus it brings defragging times down.

And why not having two identical systems on two partitions (with image prog no need for extra activation if one is already - on the other hand i had even 3 times the same XP on 3 disc in one PC and each activated individually by phone done with a human Call-center worker without probs after i told him that they're on the same computer but i need them for different purposes like everyday stuff, programming and virtualisations.

And if you're doing defragmentation regularly it don't need much time. Btw. doesn't defragmenting 2 single partitions take nearly the same time as if it would be on one? ;-)
