For real. It isn't that hard to get to know the vehicles as most of them are basically the same. If you can't do that too bad for you.

I have made a suggestion that would help non-voip people in these situations:

i guess it could be possible, but you need to communicate more, and it wouldnt always work since the gun cant angle down or up all the way when your on a hilltop or at the bottom plus the drivers camera moves.... as the driver you should know if the gun doesnt have or does have an angle on the shot

Thats often very hard to see in my opinion. Sometimes its obvious, but in hilly landscape its often just a few degrees that separates a can and can not shoot.

Regardless of whether or not it should be in game, how exactly are you proposing to do this? If you add it to the drivers HUD, it won't work because if the driver looks up, the red line will move with him. As far as I know it isn't possible to put a static red line that doesn't move with the player. You could add a ring around the drivers camera, but then that is adding something to the tank that isn't supposed to be there and will look funny, so no.
Also, if you and your fellow crewman are a competent armor crew, there is no need for this. The driver should be aware of where the gunner can see and they should always be talking.

Yeah I'm in CATA3.
But i don't see why you need this red line because it makes no sense. If you had used the time you have used to post in this thread ingame learning how armor works you wouldn't need the line anymore. Also its good to remember that if you're not sure if the gunner can hit something ask him.

Re: A red line for drivers
Player's that can't communicate effectively shouldn't take the important assets.
Although a similar issue is that drivers and gunners on tanks/APC's see through different views. I've lost count of how many times my driver can see things I can't because the PoV's are different.
But that's a different suggestion.
