Cd-key is invalid

when i try to join any bf2/Fh2/pr server i get cd-key is invalid.

i have installed battlefield 2 on this and 1 other computer.

i have another cd-key but is there a way to change it without reinstalling the whole game?

and yes my battlefield 2 is bought legaly from a well known store.

wait.. can you play the original BF2 multiplayer? if NOT, you probably typed the CD-Key wrong.

Or maybe there is an error. Contact EA by phone if you want a faster response.

O this has happend many times to me. It happens randomly too me when i have bf2 installed for along time it says cd key error no big woop this just happens RANDOMLY EVEN WHEN YOU HAVE ENTERE THE RIGHT CD KEY. Just reinstall and you will be fine.TRUST ME IT HAPPEND ALOT TO ME IN THE PAST.

you can change your cd key without reinstalling the game.

Use the search function on your pc and search for Regedit.

Once in click on Hkey_local_machine

Go to software

Electronic arts , then click on subfolder EA games , then Battlefield 2.

Click on the folder called ergc.

Double click on the file on the right hand and type in x9392(yourkey) do not put a space and make sure you use Uppercase letters.

You can change it without reinstalling like they said but I bet you it still won't work. You'll need to reinstall it. I've gone through the same thing several times this year.

Before you reinstall it make sure you delete everything bf2 related... Not just uninstall the game, or it will not install.

AFAIK when SF was released they changed how CD key is stored into registry and it's now encrypted and the way crAck_sh0t described don't work anymore.

Wrong did this in June so it still working.

the encryption just hide the CD key that is in there already.

I have been emailing to EA customer support for over a month now
They still didn't even give me a bloody solution
