Closing threads in Dev-Journal after around one week

Post by Su34 »

Hi,
not sure if this hase been discussed before (actually everythink has already been discussend in this forum:lol :) , but the surch-funktion did not dig out any results, so, I gonna post it again:

If you look at the dev-journal, you will see old threads (around one month or older....) that are beeing pushed out again with some useless posts like "I want to ingame" "sexy stuff" or what ever.
For those people, who want to get informations about what the Devs are working on, this can be really annoying. I have to check every single thread again, because someone could have posted some interesting stuff, just to find out, that there is just another useless post.

So, I suggest to lock every thread after around one week. This should give enough time to collect some feedback, but maks the journal far more clear, because you only have open threads with interesting information.
The Dev-Blog-System helped a bit, but not enough....

What do you guys think?
Do we need threads to post meaningless comments, or do we need a clearly organized Dec-Journal to keep up to date with the development of the mod?

Gazz is right, the sagin map topic is the most revived. I always think that there are new images but is only one new guy saying "great".
[R-DEV]OkitaMakoto:"Cheers, you're the man, Okita"
[R-DEV]Rhino:"I in fact got kicked from a server for tking."
Hitperson:"well done, treasure it forever."
[R-DEV]Adriaan:"Damned classy Roma, if I may say so."
[R-DEV]Chuc:"Pro man, pro."
(yes, it was about me)
[R-MOD]BloodBane611:"Romagnolo, you definitely deserve a LOL award for that."

For updated screenies and things, they should just be posted as highlights

Indeed...
But most of the forum is just for discussions, not for real information.
But the Dev-Journal is necesarry for those ppl, that are interested in the progress.
Especially for all thos newsposters and guys from community-pages, that want to stay up-to-date...

I think they should all be locked but then have a separate discussion thread somewhere else. That way people can leave feedback, but then other people can look straight at what the Dev has posted.

I agree they should be locked a week or two after their creation, but everyone knows that they are the best way of upping your 1337 postcountz (besides trolling suggestions)

If there is any major updates, dev will usually make a new highlight post or post in his blog.

As features are added to the mod, the threads will be closed.

Just set the default thread sorting to the thread start time like they do it in some other forums.

Buy & Sell - Badminton Central Discussion Forums

The users are still able to sort the threads in the normal way.
