Map Loading CTD (error message Included)

Post by Terminal-Access »

Hey guys iv been playing PR for quite a while now with no major problems, however today i logged in to a training server as i wanted to rack up some more Helo training time.

During the course of my training session i randomly CTD, since this occurred every time i try to join a map on PR or vBF2 i will CTD after the map has loaded just as the join box is displayed

Ran the game in windowed mode and was presented with this lovely error message.

I have so far attempted the following to correct this error

1. Checked compatability settings
2. Checked Administrative settings
3. Re-Installed BF2 Patch 1.50
4. Re-Installed Project reality core and levels
5. Re-Installed Direct X 9

Note: I do not think reinstalling Battlefield 2 will resolve this issue thus i have not attempted this yet - how ever if needed I can.

None of these have resolved the issue I'm having so I'm here to humbly ask the PR community for any assistance they are able to give in resolving this matter

In case its needed here is my DxDiag Information

Downloaded and overrode the existing file unfortunatly it did not help resolve the error.

Iv subsiquentialy downgraded my computers operating system to XP and every thing is fine now, its more than likely some thing to do with an updade microsoft has done to that build of windows 7 (unfortunatly due to an NDA im unable to let you guys know what build i was running)

never the less thank you all for your support.

if you still want to play PR and use WIN7 ... try downloading win7 build 7100 RC or further..

I hardly recommend it !!!!!!!!

Im using Windows 7 (Build 7600 - Trial) and i love it , its perfect and i ran into no problems at all (PR and the tons of games i got ) if you tried the hotfix provided above then thats 1 step done .

did try unistalling everything and back on again ?

I'm having this same problem, though I don't get an error message. Every time I load a map it just crashes to desktop. I'm running Win7 pro x64

The weird thing is that it worked on RC 7100-build...
