CTD fix worked for me

Post by CPU »

Every time the game changes map I'd CTD. As mentioned elsewhere in the forum there is a boot.ini line you can add at the end of the multi line which is /3GB /USERVA=2560

As such one of my c:\boot.ini line now reads-

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS="XP P3 games" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /3GB /USERVA=2560

No idea what it does, but it seems to work. I just played 3x maps in a row with no CTD :D

V1.5: 4G of ram. I should also add that my fps went up quite a bit as well.

Well you know, that largeaddressaware fix did also include the userva switch if one was running 32-bit Windows...if the 1.5 patch just simply did what the largeaddressaware fix did, then that userva fix still needs to be used.

It's been working perfectly since I added the line, so I'm in no doubt it works for me
