Carriers of nimitz size really have little place in PR as they are simply too big for the available map sizes even on 4x4km maps they would take up a large proportion of the play area. Similarly the catapult system implemented in CA (whilst no doubt a clever idea) simply doesn't have a place in PR because it is just not needed. Lastly in case I missed it PR already has carrier ops (Muttrah City, Barracuda, Jabal Al Burj) and none of these are large enough to feature jet aircraft.
I agree with you. Planes are OK, on strict army maps, but for naval assault maps, I really dont think theyre needed. Helicopters do fine for CAS anyway.

Relativ.

The F-16's top Mach speed depends on the air temperature and on the aircrafts altitude. (When the temperature varies, so does the speed of sound) According to the F-16 A/Bs manufacturer ,General Dynamics, it can go up to 2173 km/h = Mach 2.05.
The heavier F-16 C/D however can go up to 2020 km/h = Mach 1.91 according to manufacturer, Lockheed Martin, because of the increase of electronics and the heavier engine.
Of course we are talking about unarmed planes.
So the 1,6 Mach operational speed seems to be right.

alright... you may know more about this than me, I just relay what the internet tells me...

WRT the F-18 E's and F's, the fact remain that they are carrier operated, and thus to see these beautiful and awesome aircraft (yes they are my fav modern fighters too...) in PR would require that an impossible amount of work:

- F-18 E/F model, texture, code ect
- Nimitz class carrier
- Map (larger than 4x4km possibly)

would be done just to satisfy ~2 players for their joy ride in the F-18. While the rest of the 62 players feel no real significant change.

I simply just don't see this happening.
I am unaware if the older hornets are still actively operated from ground bases...

Solved by letting jets loiter outside the combat zone. Stay within view of the carrier, done.

In the Marines, most certainly. Both the C and D Hornets operate from land-bases in theater.

Well, just increase the size of the combat zone for the jets to be bigger.

If you get lost, just keep turning a certain way until you no longer get screamed at.
