injured blackout not working?

Post by bkandor »

Hi,

At some point through a driver revision from nvidia, my graphics card stopped displaying black and white when I'm almost dead or just been revived. eg. IF I get revived I can see clearly for about 5 seconds, then the red blood will appear. But the B&W aspect doesn't appear at all. I'd really like to fix this, I miss the way it was.

I'm on vista64 with an EVGA GTX 280. I'm always using the latest driver (updated last week to 193 or something). I wonder if it is just a setting somewhere?

Ok, so if I disable AA it works - but then the game looks terrible - stair stepping everywhere. Enabling AA in the nvidia cp for bf2.exe doesn't seem to work?

Run the game in the highest resolution your monitor can handle.

I do that already, I'm just used to having AA set at 8, turning it off even at 1920 x 1200 is very very noticable. I'm trying to force AA for pr.exe through the nvidia control panel but it doesn't seem to take effect - not sure yet though. I also tried forcing it on bf2.exe since I'm not sure which one is appropriate.

Yes I did, but the blackout effect wasn't working for me since before .87.

This is a endemic issue for nvidia cards post around 9800 iirc.

Expect a new way of doing shaders or something in the future I think.

I think this is connected to a few other bugs, but its only on the newer cards.
