pr and bf2 does't work..

Post by T-moad »

Ok here is my story. earlier today I played and pr have been working fine without any problems.

well, today I want to my cabin and took my laptop with me, the one I have been playing on, but now when I start the game the screen gets black for a second, but then it crashes to desktop. the only difference between here and home is that I don't have my external monitor or my external hard drive (and bf2 is not installed on the external hard drive, but on the computer.

I did not bring along the serial key to bf2 so I can't reinstall everything, only pr, which I did, and it made no difference.

Do you think there is something I can do to fix this or do I have to suffer 2 days without pr?

The refresh rate is to high for your laptops lcd screen
Edit your video file inside your profile folder
PathC:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002\video

Make sure the Mz(in red) is 60 or below(59 -58 Mz)
Most older lcd can't refresh higher than 60Mz

VideoSettings.setTerrainQuality 3
VideoSettings.setGeometryQuality 3
VideoSettings.setLightingQuality 3
VideoSettings.setDynamicLightingQuality 2
VideoSettings.setDynamicShadowsQuality 2
VideoSettings.setEffectsQuality 3
VideoSettings.setTextureQuality 2
VideoSettings.setTextureFilteringQuality 3
VideoSettings.setResolution 1600x1200@60Hz
VideoSettings.setAntialiasing Off
VideoSettings.setViewDistanceScale 1
VideoSettings.setVideoOptionScheme 3

Good luck

You need to set the video.con in Documents\Battlefield 2\profiles\Default, and your profile. The only time that the profile settings are applied is after you log into your account. You could have all the random and faulty settings you want in the profile *.con's and the game should still get to the login screen.

nvm. I fixed it ;) I put the VideoSettings.setResolution at 800x600@60Hz because that resolution works at almost any screen, and then ingame I chose a resolution that fit the screen better. And I did it on both profile 0001 and default.
