General discussion of the Project Reality: BF2 modification.

So how do you perfer people to use VOIP

Role-play it! If you want realism, go all the way!

Role-playing is a bit too geeky, however I'd like some enthusiasm from my squad.

As long as I can understand you and you aren't doing something stupid (Think me hearing you talk to your mum or wife over VOIP.)

As king of casual i have to say , i really don't care enough or have such uneventful days that fictional pix-elated choppers crashing is going to be conveyed in excitement through the tone in my voice.

Haha, everyone in my squad is generally very quickly annoyed by me, and I tend to get kicked from squads a lot, because I'm a talkative person. It's sad how impatient people are nowadays. :(

well I recently made a half hearted attempt at doing a radio course at cadets so I know enough to be able to role play it  I also know my phonetic ABCs  8-)

I like to scream into the mic and frequently give people vague and/or barely coherent commands.

I really really really don't care, unless you're shouting to the point where my ears bleed.

That ones pretty important.

Calling squad leaders Sir is pretty fun too. Unless it's with a srsface on, then it really is not good.

yeah, "sir" with the intent of portraying chain of command really makes me feel wierd.

but "yes sir" in the way that alot of americans say "yes sir-ree!" in a lighthearted way is fine.

I do that sometimes. I sometimes also drive from the passenger seat where my CO doesn't impress me. I don't get kicked from squads for this behavior in the main, so my input must be worth the strain.

I also get excitable when under fire, but when I die I act dead!

I use it as best I can. Trying to be serious, but since English is not my native language you'll hear quite a lot of umm... and uhhh's from me as I think of how to say what I want to say.

Roleplay FTW!!! Spread bar stories, tell that you're looking forward to seeing your wife when your duty is over...

My story isnt much different. I can hear but my mic is busted and I cant talk through it. When I join a squad I must say. "Dont have a mic i can talk through but i can hear just fine, is that okay with you?." ( i can type that in 2 seconds now...im serious) They say, thats fine sharpshooter, as long as you can hear, etc. or they say nothing and kick me out. Or they use VOIP so much that they never read words on the side and ignore me

When I get my mic fixed or get a new one Ill tend to talk normal. Unless im on the insurgent team im going to make people laugh thier *** off as i tend to hog the "Comedian Kit" with my primary microphone and secondary rubber chicken.

It only makes the game funnier and It allows a better survival (take five minutes to write in the chat the position of the enemy the whole squad is dead lol). Though, I saw a couple players a bit carried away in VOIP (use too much military idioms which is very fun sometimes).
