The thing is that as it is, the lase is a horribly buggy thing. It can't move any faster without just bouncing off a targetangellfall wrote:Its called "lazer guided" in pryou gain lock shoot missle and missle will fly to this target even if ur not painting it anymore... Also you can shoot lazertargetted missle beond visual range (closer than 1000m) and if there is laze thiss missle will lock on it in mid air... working like bombs in jets. You can drop them anywhere and they will seek lazed target from ground. I think afterall lazer system needs more improvement and it needs to be faster so your gunner can use it also effectively. And well.. we still need that tank locking feature from CA to be adabted to attack heli's for gunners.. after that you could just keep flying around and shoot on move more easier than now... that would make AA to be more valuable asset for team to get rid of those damn choppers whom are raping all armor whitout aa cover like they would do in IRL.

What if a right click made your cam stabilize to that point, and constantly adjust the angle to look at it?

Not possible or it would have been done already. 2142 has gun stabilisation and one of the things the DEVs wanted for the 1.5 patch was to have it ported into BF2. Don't think it happened though

I actually asked Baza on the EAUK forums about porting that code over along with prone deviation and he was interested, but didn´t seem to persue it further.StuTika wrote:Not possible or it would have been done already. 2142 has gun stabilisation and one of the things the DEVs wanted for the 1.5 patch was to have it ported into BF2. Yes, but at least you instantly know, and you can at least track a moving target.angellfall wrote:IDD it is my darlingbut its just reality it bugs

Besides, the laser isn't shooting into mirrors.
If there was camera stabilizability I'd say the current LG mode would be fine. But right now there is none, so how about TV guided?
Possibly lock on mode if the devs have a change of heart.

Still doesn't solve the problem for everyone else.rampo93(FIN) wrote:Just get a gaming mouse whit instant adjustable sensitivity controls![]()
That, and I'd still like to see unguided hellfires implemented. It simulates camera stabilisation.

Re: Attack Helicopters and Tanks...
Yesterday i where piloting apache againg in kashan... we had pretty nice round and i tested my new tactic to help gunner out... Old dive bombing... First we where flying in 700-800m. to spot enemy armor on ground.. gunner setted attack marker on target (we didnt have spotter on that round) after that we just dived in really deep angle to marker and gunner spam shooted his missiles whitout zooming in... Worked rly well and we didnt get shot down this way... I have tried this tac couble times now and most likely that is best what you can have since you dont need to hover in any point.. and even if you miss from your target, heli willbe flying so fast on ground level that no-one can hit you with apc or tank if you are doing avoiding manouvers.
Getting rid of hovering means eliminating like 80% of all risks to get shot down... this excludes enemy helis and AA/AAV's ofc but usually you can always deliver hit to your target even if you will get locked when you start diving 2 flare packs are enough to reach ground and 2 more to go get hell out of there...
Since this divebombing is not rly irl way to do this i just hold my tumbs up so hopefully we get something better for those heavy attack helis on next patch...
