A simple sugestion to stop an exploit
please skin the inside of fob buildings so people cant craw under them and be hidden yet able to fire under this shield the skin will make them unable to see out thus removing the point of going under them

Re: A simple sugestion to stop an exploit
As it's not a bug, I'd say no. As Chris knows this is a known exploit, he's suggesting a fix. It's not a bad Idea but the Dev's do have a semi-fix that is being worked on.HellDuke wrote:Doesn't this belong in the Bugs forum?
Chris, If you see players using this exploit, be sure to notify the server admins. Utilising exploits is frowned upon and is just as bad as hax IMO.

Re: A simple sugestion to stop an exploit
Of course it's possible. We know that the BF2 engine won't allow textures on both sides of a poly but if the mesh was altered so that there is an inner set of polys, it'd work.rampo93(FIN) wrote:I don't think its even possible
It'd be a bodge of a fix but as Chris has said, a simple suggestion to stop an exploit.

Re: A simple sugestion to stop an exploit
So if it cant be done whit the BF2 engine its hardcoded, and hardcoded means more or less impossibleSgt.Smeg wrote:Of course it's possible. We know that the BF2 engine won't allow textures on both sides of a poly but if the mesh was altered so that there is an inner set of polys, it'd work.

Tell you the truth I'm not sure way they were established like this. Might be because the code requires it. A simple fix would be to add a col to cap the bottom, but I will ask about that first.

Apologies, I don't think you get that advert on US TV.

Seriously though, who's to ask? Just fix it, that's what you get paid for...

Ok its been talked about and so far its just been a legacy thing that never got corrected. All deployables will be capped in the future.

Re: A simple sugestion to stop an exploit
yep, like CRF, we are already hard at work at capping all the bottoms on each deployable so this can't be exploited
So far I've already fixed the deployable AA

Nice.
Whoever was using this exploit on Archer at the castle the other day, (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!) don't do it again. Stupid glitcher ran our tickets down a bunch before we realized what was happening. Next time i'll swap teams and find out who is doing it. Then it's the BAN HAMMER for your cheating ***.
