No I just think thats an SR-25. I'm pretty sure at least, because there is a hanguard on each of the rails. Also I know everyone hates being "1337 tacticool silenzer" but haven't quite a few modern militaries started attaching suppressors to almost all marksman/sniper rifles? So not just the SR-98 but the SR-25 too?

well, germany is thinking about using a rifle based on the civilian G36 version as DMR with build in silencer

in the ADF profile reduction equipment is fairly standard. almost all long range engagement systems either have or are being fitted with them as standard.
the brief on on the next generation requirements for a main battle rifle or Individual weapons system indicates that profile reduction equipment should be considered as a integral part of any future Australian purchase.

well now that some one else has brought it up, i might as well mention a version of the
f88a3 is being tested currently for incorperation as a DMR to be fielded with manouver sections in dismounted light infantry force elements. the one i have seen is a modified f88a3 with a eclan sight suitable for engaging targets out to 800m (there are several others some not even f88's being considered) . a version of the SR25 is also being put foreward as the "sharpshooter" or "LRTR/long Range Tactical Rifle" to be provided to the MSS (manouver support section) of DLIFE's..

p.s. you know we probably could not have chosen a better or worse time to pursue a ADF comfac as IRL the ADF is going through some major changes, while this means so much instability for us, it means the end products after 2012 will be EPIC.
