it takes a fair bit to learn how to export vehicles and such. If you want to learn take a look around BF2 Editor forums or have a look at this tut... FH2 mapping tutorials - Battlefield 2 Modding Tutorial 6 - Building the Car - Maya version

Like i said tho, toke me about 3 months to learn to export vehicles, weapons, kits, soldiers and every other possible model into game. Its not an easy road but if you put ur mind to it its well worth it.

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth

3dmax 9(not 2009) is the best thing to go, if you're on vista or Win7 you will need SP2 for max, and this can cause problems for exporting(it was said in other thread), i've tried to export simple staticmeshes and it worked, dunno about more complicated stuff
for BF2 export menu in max you need PoE export tools click
