Re: Language orientated assets
If its impacting on gameplay, i.e. they don't have enough to crew all the availiable assets they claim, then take the asset unless admin orders that you can't

Lets start by saying that asset naming is stupid.HellDuke wrote:Here's a thought:
Doesn't it at times bother you when an asset actually is taken not by a particular few players or clan, but the language. Too often doo I see "TANK FR" etc. It's alright when doing that with INF i guess, but that's taking a pretty important asset and just sticking a label: "Speak our language or you can't use it". I would understand when it's in a french, russian etc server, but an english? (UK warfare)
Thoughts.
Race to to the tank instead of 1.30
No language is better than other.
I see allot of "TW EN" -squads but don't see people complaining about them.
If someone has friends and they speak the same language then by all means they have even higher right to that asset than some random TANK squad or some clan that think they can use the tank.
Language orientated squads can be worst or the best, depends on players and their ability to communicate with other players rather than what language they speak.

Re: Language orientated assets
I play with my friends, 4 of us, and never take a heavy asset, one uses sniper rifle because he doesnt understand its useless, but ok, let the guy have its own fun, at least i tell him to cover us or do some scouting, better than lonewolfing in a locked squad. Also i fully cooperate with other squads as i would do if i run EN squad, maybe even better. When i talk to CO i talk in EN, same if im the Co, because i've seen some people globaly talk to all squad russian, french and german, like theyre the only ppl in the world...
inner squad communication i dont care about, but outer must be ENG unless its an event or dedicated language server.

Re: Language orientated assets
why? Having some assets together and in BF2 VOIP coms with eachother is the most effective way of using some assets, as well as ensuring infantry squads are 100% effective instead of 2 guys assualting flags on foot, with 4 people in tanks.Lets start by saying that asset naming is stupid.

You contradict yourself there. Why do friends have more right than a clan? A clan could be more experienced about it if they are mil sim where friends might just do it for a laugh. And normally a group of friends are a clan.Vege wrote:

Ahh, i'm wrong here. I'm not against naming squads for desired asset, im against the rule that named squad has right to that asset over not so correctly named squads.Dr2B Rudd wrote:why? Other reasons i would say that most of the clanplayers are in early twentys tops and lack the tactics to be efficient. MOST.
Getting OT, all I'm saying that I'm against any language based biased actions

I am gennerally against all language orientated squads, since its not really better for teamplay,so i hate this aswell, unless they can get 6 players in 1 squad, and squad leader speaking english to his commander.

If it ever became I problem, I'd assume it's because I'm an ignorant American that doesn't speak X.
Lucky for me it hasn't been a problem.

Re: Language orientated assets
Let me start by saying I will probably contradict myself in this post.
I dislike the opinion I have but I have that opinion for what I believe is a valid reason.
As Crack said, often times communication with the squad that does not speak English is non-existant. They are usually the ones that asset steal, have no sense of teamwork, and just be all-around smacks. I'm not saying English is better than any other language. I just believe that people who don't speak English cause quite a few problems in PR. Other times, it's just ignorant children. I do not like the opinion because I don't like to say English is better and you should be persecuted because you don't speak it. That's not right.

I think i made a threat earlier about this but I say it again:
language squads are a waste of the 9 available squads. Stick to english everyone

As long as there able to communicate with the team in the main language of the server I see no problem.

Re: Language orientated assets
Ususally they pose no problem, like the LAG clan. They play in our servers often and mostly go infantry. There are however those times when such groups do take say tanks or apcs and go off on there own. They may have one person who knows any english period but when the team starts requesting help they just ignore it. Ive heard plenty of times where one of our guys would join their squad to try and get something done *more often than not when its asset stealing and they ignore server rules due to the 'language barrier' and Ive heard a few times over vent where they are just screwing around singing, talking to the admin/member in voip and laughing.

i dont really see a problem unless they dont communicate with the team.. then they are wasting assets..
don't forget that not everybody in the world can speak english like its their native tongue, and it is alot easier to communicatie in their native language.
i would like to speak some dutch in a squad but i rarely come across other dutch guys..

I bump into a few on TG. Usually they all have NL in their tag or name somewhere.
