Re: What was your "Shock and Awe" moment in PR
On Qwai back in .8 before they removed the Z-11, we were holding down estate with two squads, and there were PLA moving in from all directions, and the Z-11 hovering around the estate filling the place with 12mm rounds.
People screaming for medics everywhere. It was like that for a good 5 minutes until all of a sudden, "plink plink plink, BOOM!" Z-11 goes down and three Strykers roll in and take up positions around the estate, mowing down all the remaining PLA troops as they retreat back into the woods.
Epic.

My first "Shock and Awe" moment was when I saw the main menu. Dang that thing looks nice.

(Yes technically a PR extension and a test but damn I was definitely in pure shock and awe)
I'd say my shock and awe moment was when I shot an enemy stryker with an AT4 in his underside as insurgent while it was a rare hill-climbing stryker. I was literally under the thing when I fired it, got tracked, tipped over and rolled down the hill straight into the water (it was Ramiel) and then killing the confused crew.
Not only are the chances of having an enemy AT4 on that map minimal, but being right under a stryker with it ready to fire is a whole other world of "WTFPWN".

So many.
Driving a Challenger 2 MBT through the Oil Storage flag on Al Kufrah during my first PRT battle. Me and the gunner Marmorkaka were just screaming Leeeroy Jenkins at the top of our lungs and blasting Vodniks, APCs and Infantry. We survived the entire round as well with a 43 - 0 KDR
My first game on TG I joined Chubbens squad with Mongol. We were on Qwai 16, so infantry and trucks/humvees. Mong took a H-AT and destroyed 2 trucks loaded with enemy getting 12 kills within the first 10 minutes of the round.
Rolling through Fools Road with Scot and Duke in a Spandrel, pwning enemy tanks whilst Duke played his banjo over TS.
I could go on

I has a few, one would have to be PRT kashan in C7, just charging in tanks, had very good CAS, explosions everywhere.
Another one would have to be fools road, playing as russians me, jigsaw, colonelcool, carebear and nytemyre are in T-90s, carebear went all sneaky like and puts down markers for us to indirect fire. Ended up with us charging to the fortress at the last split second only to have farks get us in the back with a spandrel.

Unstoppable, period.
Duke when i was leading a training squad in the desert, and Duke's A-10 came right in on a column of tanks i spotted out for him, If only he could have heard the reaction of the squad!
When those ambush drills go perfect, SL-ing for new players and you really hear them get fired up with success afterwards.
Mongol as selfless ammo-giving wingman on EJOD while I decimate the enemy armour with the HAT.
I could go on.

Re: What was your "Shock and Awe" moment in PR
0.65 when i first tried squad leading, in the first minute of the round on Mestia i got my squad behind enemy lines while the rest of the team was still just leaving the main onto the road. i think this all happened under 2 minutes, the commander really liked and depended on us that round. we almost then immediately out flanked and crushed the east bunker on our own.
0.65 there was a different round on Sunset city where as a US SL i lead my squad across all the flag points, did the capping for all of them and even into the main and won with no one in my squad dieing. and in that time we encountered a few apcs and a **** load of enemy infantry. we had a great medic but we only needed him to patch us up, didnt even need any revives. (rest of the team really helped...not)
i swear to god(chuc) this is all true

0.5 - I would have to say mine would be when I first played on Basra V1 with a good squad. Juniper was SL, we gathered 2 Abrams, 2 LAV's and a repair truck and drove around the city killing all the INS spawn cars. Crushing the INS backs before they could get us. The INS got so tired of us they made a massive ambush and managed to disable a M1A1 Abrams. We drove back in are LAV-25 and rescued the stranded crew, which were outside firing back at them with there M16A2's and pouring fire back in the building. No one was lost and it showed a true part of realism in the mod and made me stay around.

Shock - First time squad leading, half full server, no mic, someone joins my sq and realises i dont have a mic so he then invites his mates in to start heckleing me and insulting me knowing i couldnt say anything back to them, that put me off, i unistalled the mod for about 3 versions after this.
Awe - When i came back to the mod in about version 7.5 with a mic this time so i could play properly. My first ever drop into the heart of Muttrah with a sq, we land, take out an enemy squad to our east then procede to forge a path to an enemy FOB/AA enplacement, we took this out then capped out the map, the level of teamwork was imense and the realism grabed me by the weding tackle and pulled me in

0.85 on UKWF I think, playing as an insurgent on Basrah. Standing and watching gob-smacked as the entire British team charged through the crops "shouting fix bayonets" on the ingame chat (or at least preping their restrainer ties)
The relentless tide swamped us in seconds and the final cache was destroyed, moments like that make this mod the sucess it is
Wish I'd taken more screenshots, but the firepower was overwhelming

Re: What was your "Shock and Awe" moment in PR
Mine was at my First game as a squad leader without my friends. We landed at the jungle of Barracuda. I said to my squad to defend the lz. But we got other orders from the commander, we had to move up and destroy a enemy AA-Hard-point. We attacked the hard-point and destroyed with only 2 casualties. The enemy immediately started a counter attack. We'd to fall to back to the lz. Our attack Huey's protected us but got shot down when pulling up after his dive. After 2 waves we got a positive reaction on our request for evac. The Huey's came in. My squad splitted up, first 3 to the chopper then the remaining troops to the chopper. But I got shot ( I was the last one that left the lz), the chopper took off and flew to the carrier. It was a great moment. More a Vietnam moment (I wanted to hear CCR-Fortunate Son
).

Re: What was your "Shock and Awe" moment in PR
I don't remember my exact "shock and awe" moment that made my <3 pr but, I do remember a few of my favorites.
#1. I was running in the docks on muttrah back in .85 as USMC and the cobra was above the warehouses (200ft+) and was lighting something up, and an lav-25 was shooting from behind me about 150m or so, and I heard that whizzing sound of the rounds flying by.
#2. This one was on Muttrah again, hopped into a transport chopper, and we made our way to land. We were flying over the container ship when a vodnik started to shoot us, he killed the pilot immediately and the helicopter started spinning out of control and I was in the back seat. It reminded me of a World in Conflict NYC trailer.
#3. EPIC KASHAN TANK BATTLE (all that needs to be said.)

Re: What was your "Shock and Awe" moment in PR
My shock and awe moment was when I first started playing and a squad leader would call for assistance from the team and people would actually respond(CAS, transport, support, ect). No other game I've played has had this sort of team work.
Another one was when a we lased a target and a jet came in did a strafing run killing the target and right after it another jet came in a bombed the carcass. Overkill awesomness

Re: What was your "Shock and Awe" moment in PR
i played some of regular battlefield but get bored to that.
then i downloaded project reality mod 0.5.
in some citymap(mutrah 1?),i spotted enemy.
i aimed and shotted.
enemy fell down and his dead.
my first game and i just shot the enemy down just like that.
with one bullet!!!
that was my awe.really.
and my shock was couple weeks ago.
again,i spotted camping enemy just 20 meters away.
i stopped, get down, wait for few seconds and shotted three bullet at his back.
enemy just run away.
sometimes realism can be stupid.

Re: What was your "Shock and Awe" moment in PR
Holding the line with my Delta boys on Hills of Hamyong against the entire British team during a PRT match. When 6 guys hold a position against an entire team and the only thing for the reinforcements to do when they (finally) show up is steal a brit kit or two is a damn fun experience. Smoke covering the approach, frags being pelted down a mountain path, QBZ-95s blazing away full auto into a mass of charing british troops then counter attacking down the hill, getting right into the heart of the enemy, picking up an L85 and causing a good few team kills in the confusion is a damn great feeling.
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.

Re: What was your "Shock and Awe" moment in PR
screaming over the mic, SCREW PICKING THEM OFF JUST JUMP INTO THE FLAG ZONE AND BUNKER DOWN BEHIND SOME COVER! after that one we held off wave after wave of enemy counter attack. that was a good plan, if i hadn't ordered my squad to just charge in and take cover and worry about the killing later, we woulda been stuck in the open with several enemy squads outflanking us. after we got inot the position and killed the closest threats and took the flag, it was only a matter of seconds before 2 or 3 squads charged our positions.
most of the most epic PR moments happen when you have no other option but to charge in and hunker down

Re: What was your "Shock and Awe" moment in PR
.86, It was my second game on the CHICAGO INSURGENCY server. We were on Karbala, I set an artillery IED on the side of the road while a supply truck and two humvees full of people started rushing through. I blew up the IED prematurely....on purpose. WHAT A TWIST! Next all of those vehicles got scared of the IED in front of them that they all stopped and people ontop of buildings started going crazy with their AK47's on them from above.
Next was on Al Basrah, just last thursday
My sqaud was all civis, we were walking with our hands up in formation to a tank and stryker which were on the bridge in D8 area, they had their eyes on us. We just got close enough where one of the passengers came out to try and arrest us.... We didn't plan what happened next we were losing the game and decided to have some fun. But just as we though we were going to forfeit the game BIG RED came in and busted shiz up. He blew up the tank, stryker, a FOB and all the crew inside!
Lastly was today, We had a civi stand in the road with his hand up on Ramiel. After a while a humvee stopped and came out to arrest him, the rest of my squad came out of the bushes and ambushed. Because of it we saved the known cache
(You can tell ambushing is how I roll)
can't wait for new tactics to come in .9

Re: What was your "Shock and Awe" moment in PR
Best thing ever was just recently. Playing as INS on the US map with the two LB, US main base in NE corner, river in the south... Karbala? I dunno.
Anyways, one cache took forever for the US to get intel on. The whole time I ran around putting IEDs in the courtyard that the cache was near. You have to go through the courtyard to get to the cache, and courtyard has two entrances.
I coated the thing in a good 20 IEDs, several meters apart in a checker pattern. I asked my whole team to get out (only 12-ish per team online) until the big boom. They did.
Waited for US, who finally got intel. They sneak in... a few scout out, then we hear the humvees coming... I'm hiding behind a ledge on a roof, and hear somebody coming up my ladder, check my map, and its not friendly. Hit enter (had "Allah Ackbar" typed in in all chat), and hit the mouse button.
BOOM
Two humvees, one full squad, and part of another gone just like that.
It took me like 15 minutes to setup the IEDs and if I got killed, all of that would have been wasted.
Did it again later, but only got one squad.
Managed to get a LB pilot too, but not the LB.
