This is possible in the BF2 engine, I've seen a video of it. But its not especially great. Would be a nice effect if added properly, but it has limits, iirc the inside and outside won't look the same, and where bullets hit it won't get specific effects. If hit, teh entire screen gets the effect, not a specific bullet hole.

Yeah, say it draws when you have 50% health, maybe after getting hit by a SA-7 or something, glass randomly smashing would look kinda strange, on vehicles like the hummer though, might look ok.

@rudd: i think its the same even there in OFP, if you look at it there are bullet holes (not holes the marks that they make on bullet proof glass) in the window although he was not shot at.

Bullet holes don't work that well in BF2.
If the bullet was shot from outside the vehicle into the glass, the bullet hole would be visible from the outside but not visible to anyone inside the vehicle.
You could experiment this with a humvee. If you climb to the top of the .50 and fire a shot into a window through the hole on top of the humvee, you would see the bullet hole if you're in one of the seats.
As for glass smashing, I have yet to see it.
