First time here - hello all!

Post by MadRobbie1 »

Hi,

Just signed up in the forums here, even though I've been dabbling with PR for 3 or 4 months now, so first off thought I'd stop by and send out a "hello" to you all :D

Second - amazing work done by all to make PR what it is! Thankyou for making this available to us! 8-)

Third - looking to get 'serious' about playing PR... started off spending time in the training servers (Kashan & Quinling), but wow, how many idiots can fill these servers!?
I'd say for every one superb session, I got a good dozen or more where it's a constant battle against your own side rather than the enemy :? ??: ... so I've started hitting the deployment servers as there seems to be a far more mature part of the community to stand side-by-side with, and for the best part having great fun - it's a struggle keeping up sometimes, but still great fun!
Met some guys with the tag <RaViN> (IIRC) a week or two ago, and must ackknowledge their patience and kindness while coaching me on the battlefield even while the bullets flew past our heads! Thanks Gentlemen! 8-)

I would like to get more training in as I know I'm a hinderence to the more experienced guys when in a squad, but I don't think I can put up with the very different attitude and (mental)caliber of players found predominantly on the training servers (thats not bashing the so-called noobs - after all I'm very much one too as far as PR goes, it's the base-rapers and multiple own-team asset destroyers I'm on about).

So, I guess really if any of you can point the way to the kind of servers where teamwork really is the order of the day that would be great ;) ... also not adversed to the idea of getting involved with a squad/clan for PR, so if there are any recommendations for groups that will take on new guys and assist with training in most or all areas of the game, please feel free to shout!

Again, thanks for a superb mod!
Good luck on the frontline.... see you there sometime 8-)

Welcome to the community CPS Bomber!

Yea, training mode is a bit of a dud atm, its occupied by the undesireables, probably not much training going on there, but it gets you familiar with the vehicles/controls.

Great servers:

Reality Teamwork - you'll need mumble to join here, but its excellent place to play and train. Read more on mumble here: realitymod.com/mumble

Tactical Gamer - great server, when you can get in. Lots of people willing to help new players out

UK Warfare servers - great server with lots of friendly players

CHICAGO servers - again great servers with lots of friendly players

I'd recommend those servers to you for some good experiences.

If you see me in game (fuzzhead) join the squad and I'll give my best to help you become more familiar with the game.

Hello Rob, Welcome to the forums mate.
Its sad to see you having trouble with idiots on the training servers :-x Admins are too busy with the multiplayer servers I imagine. otherwise they would be getting kicked/banned.
As for a teamwork server, follow fuzzheads suggestions and also [ABA] - Official British Army PR Server. https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f29-pr-server-feedback/68398-aba-official-british-army-servers-europe.html
Also try Mumble mate alot of servers are using it at the min.

Good luck 8-)

Tactical Gamer, UKWF, Chicago Hardcore... Just make sure you join a serious squad, let them know you are new but don't act like a noob (ex. not following your SLs orders).

Doing idiot stuff on these servers will get you kicked/banned.

But once on UKWF Insurgency I made a Dance-off of destiny in the middle of Korengal Valley as an American with the squad I was in--- with red and purple and white smokes all around--- and we weren't bothered at all by anyone else...

Good luck mate!
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

Yep often training servers are filled with bellends who just want to bomb runways and squish people with choppers, especially the more full ones (normally Battleforce I think).

RT, TG and UKWF are the most well-established places for a good game with English speakers, but most servers are well administrated and you should have a good game wherever you go. Any complaints and you can use the server feedback forum.

Adriaan, fuzzhead, Mad-Mike, goguapsy, Bamtoman & Masterbake - thanks for the friendly welcome gentlemen! Much appreciated 8)

I've had a gander at some of the server's you've recommended in the past few sessions I've had with PR, and overall the experience has been far superior to the training servers! Like I said previously though, I feel my lack of 'training' and tactical experience can be a handicap to most squads. Hopefully though that will all be taken care of in time the more chances I get to spend with dedicated players.

I will be sure to give the Official British Army PR Server a look as well as the CB!PR clan too ;)

So what sort of times would I be more likely to catch you guys on a server? I'm usually on after 22:00GMT.... days of the week vary though, as I tend to do my gaming when Mrs CPS_Bomber is working a nightshift at the A&E Dept or if she's off to bed really early (to sleep unfortunately not the other sort of gaming ;-) ) as she's doing an early shift the next day.

Cheers all,
Rob

The fact that you think you might be a hindrance means I would want you in my squad. It's the people that think that they can kill everyone easy are the people that annoy me. Just find a good squad and do what they say.

Dr2B Rudd & gaurd502 :D (plus previous posters!)

Hello and thanks for the replies/advice! Sorry it's taken a little while to respond, but it's busy times here as my Fiancee and I have just brought a new house and it's full-on decorating mode at the moment before we move in!

Looks like I'll have to add xfire to my list of things to investigate as well as mumble 8-)

@ gaurd502, thanks for suggesting a link-up for training if we catch each other on online in the future, extremely kind of you to offer your time in such a way Sir! 8-)

Take care on the front line all.... see you online soon hopefully!
Cheers!

welcome to PR and the forums, love it or hate it though the training servers really help to filter the servers. hope you'll enjoy PR for years to come.
