Community behaviour on PR resources

It has recently come to our attention that a small minority of (now ex) PR community members have been leveling abuse towards others and disrupting their gaming.

In this instance, 2 males spent a period of time making immature, lewd and unnesessary sexual references towards a female member of the PR community. The 2 fellas are now banned from PR's mumble, Forums and Tournament and have had their server licences revoked.

We want to make something very clear. If there are any repeats of this, or any other instances of community members disrupting or abusing others, the offenders will find themselves out in the cold very quickly. We keep track of the various servers in a number of ways, and we WILL act if you go against the spirit of the community.

The PR community has always been noted for being patient, friendly and mature. Let's not turn existing members away with childish behaviour, or put new members off with such behaviour. The PR Mumble is there for the whole community. Everyone's welcome to make use of it, as long as you treat people as you expect to be treated yourself.

The Maturity in PR was one of the main things that not only kept me playing but brought me back. Good to see its still being upheld.

To put it another way - consider the principles of the forum rules to expand to any other servers that are run by the PR team - whether it be TS, Mumble, a stress test server or anything else.

Just because you don't think anyone's looking/listening isn't an excuse to act like a bully, and just because someone doesn't feel able to tell you that they feel threatened it doesn't mean that they don't feel it.

So, lesson to anyone who enjoys spoiling other's enjoyment of Mumble - cut it out. Lesson to anyone who is persistently having problems with (an)other individual(s) - let us know and something will be done about it.

The 2 personalities were perm banned, had their server licence revoked and are no longer welcome within this community ("in the cold" would be another way of saying this). They were also caught verbally abusing others on the PRT TS a while back, so are repeat offenders. Their behaviour implied that they are unloved, lonely and have small penises.

Im not starting a discussion here, but what would you do with repeat offenders whom impersonate other community members, disrupting gameplay, and whom repeatedly sexually harass one of the few female community members PR has?

Your free to run your own community how you see fit, if you dont mind that behavior, thats your prerogative but in this community, that kind of repeat offenses are not going to fly.

I dont really know the details of whatever happened, but I know the persons in question as they were helping with the server population initiative and i am surprised of this as I did not knew them to be that kind of persons.

They indeed have been with my service since i started and I have them as serious teamwork players and generally nice fellas.

I am not, and will not take sides just my 2 cents.

Heh, I've read the message sent from the multiple duplicate accounts to the whole Dev Team, and it's full of rubbish to be frank.

Matrox and Masaq have not got personal issues with yourselves. I have not got personal issues with yourselves. Quite frankly, I'd never heard of your clan before. I only knew you were a server admin due to the fact that you threw a hissy fit in the past due to previous requests from senior members of the PR Dev team regarding a map pack. If you think you guys are important enough to be this hated, you are sorely mistaken.

There are no rights to free speech on this forum. Never has been, never will be. This is a community that has risen from the mod, our mod, and we shape it's future. We will not stand for people wingeing and complaining about the community rules and etiquette coming to bite them in the ***, and in some cases suggesting the mod's run wrong and mentioning other mods that have had their leadership overturned, hence the recent bans put in place, by me personally. This coming from forum members who have, at the MOST, been members here for just under a year.

Sexual harassment is gross misconduct and illegal where I live. It's illegal where you live. You'll lose your job at the very least. Why would we let you pair abuse, as fuzz has mentioned, one of the few female members of the community? Why would we stand by and allow anyone to abuse anyone on Mumble, a resource we provide? We don't just have a duty of care to our community in terms of creating the mod, we have a duty of care to ensure people can enjoy, without threat of verbal abuse, the mod on a resource WE provide. So do not for one second think that all this "we've done x, y & z for PR will wash".

You've done very little to be honest compared to community groups and individuals both past and present. Sorry, but we do not want your help if you think it gives you some kind of free pass to act as you have been doing. You both are no longer welcome here. There are plenty of others who we appreciate giving up their time and resources to help the community as a whole, in a mature manner. Not giving with one and taking with the other. All those points you scored by doing things FOR PR, where taken away when you acted like prats. Sorry, it's big boys rules from now on. We will not accept this kind of attitude, nor will we be giving second chances. You know why regarding you guys? Would it have anything to do with having previously having done this before on the PRT TeamSpeak server? We'll call that your first chance then, shall we? Looks like you blew your second chance already then.

For your information, the PRL is AWOL for some reason. We used to have good contact with the leads on the PRL, but we've heard absolutely nothing about it, nor been approached by the PRL to re-affirm their ties with the Dev Team after Bludshot left. We develop the mod. We're not here to run everything else. It's up to the PRL to get a grip on their site and internal organisation and show the Mod team that it's a system that can be depended on, and we'll then look into it further in terms of support. I PERSONALLY said I'd rebuild their site, forums and ladder system. I asked someone who I assume has close ties to the PRL to add me to MSN. They did, but I am still waiting on them contacting me after, what, 3 months?

The decision to place a forum ban was taken by the team and actioned by me, there's 2 pages of agreement on this in the private forums. The decision to place the Mumble ban was first, and common sense seeing as you're banned from the forums. We pulled your server licence as you're a repeat offender and we will not stand for server admins who think they can do what they want with the wider community, outside of their server. At least in your server, if you still had one, the community could decide for themselves to play there or not.

The PR Team is the heart of the mod. The community, the soul. You guys are the arse-end. Deal with the consequences, that's what happens in real life. Realism mod.
