I really can't see why anyone uses hitfixer, in fact I regard it as a form of cheating (hence why many servers kick for it). I manage a positive KDR everytime I play with no problems and whilst it can sometimes be annoying to shoot someone and not kill them you can always shoot them again ;)

Imo if people are going to use something that does alter the characteristics of the game then it should be all or nothing, either everyone has to use it, or no-one gets to use it.

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Both weapons use the same ammo.

dude, it compensates the ping for you. if the default value of the ping calculations is 35, it's like playing on a bf2 server with 35 ping and get perfect registration.

saying "it should be all or nothing" would apply to me with 150 ping getting dust shots and getting killed by an enemy with 35 ping. this DOES even the playing field and gives everyone the same opportunity of getting kills as the people with 35 ping.

(don't know the default value but i think it was 35)

I agree everyone should use hitfixer. This would prevent any mentality that hitfixer is cheating. But until that time comes I do not think players should be bared from using it. Considering you still have to aim your own weapon and put rounds on target while playing. Hitfixer just makes sure that the rounds hit where you aimed them. After deviation of course.

Will "hitreg" happen on vehicle?

I fired a tank shell at the A-10 and hit it in the nose but it didn't go off,is that a hit reg?

or its just because APFSDS round couldn't do too much damege to planes :? ??:

Thank you all for replying, and thanks for info.

Bob.

No it should've died by that one shot AFAIK.

But i have seen other vehicles take hits yet retain no damage. e.g. a gaskin survivng a tank shell.

Same round, however the M16 generates a higher muzzle velocity due to a longer barrel and thus the round carries more energy.
Jedimushroom wrote:^ Thermis knows his stuff, BF2 hitreg sucks and there is no difference whatsoever between the M16 and M4 in PR other than the model.
Doesn't the M4 take less time to draw?

There is a reason why it is called hitFIXER as opposed to hitIMPROVER. The BF2 code is optimised for someone playing at 100 ping. Higher or lower and the game makes their model appear somewhere other than where the server says their hitboxes are, which is a problem. Hitfixer doesn't give an artificial advantage to some players any more than BF2 gives an artificial advantage to players with 100 ping or near. Hitfixer fixes a serious shortcut/oversight by DICE, nothing more.

Goddamn cheaters, forcing hitboxes over the player model instead of magically in front or behind. I mean, if they hit a player, why should they deserve to have that register as a hit?

"No it wasn't. It wasn't designed to change at all.
The "fixes" don't make the game work any differently as the server is still running with the normal values that the game has. These changes just graphically make it look like something different is happening."

that post is a load of crock. of course they might not want to admit that they made a misstep. they also said that they were gonna fix the registration for 1.5... which kinda failed.

check your quote again:
"These changes just graphically make it look like something different is happening."
that's exactly what i want. i want the model "graphically" move where the hitbox actually is. hitfixer synchs this. i'm a happy camper.

this is how it works, no matter if you want to believe it of not:

This thread is getting of the original topic, we've argued hitfixer to death already. So let us get back to talking about the M4 if there is anything more to talk about.
