Actually thats RT :) we are running an event this weekend, click my sig for more information.

I would have liked to say TG and RT can play Qinling equally good, but I've yet to actually play Qinling on RT.

So maybe if you guys join this weekend we can equal TG's teamwork achievements.

maplist
Qwai 64
Kashan 32
Al Kufrah 64
EJOD Desert 64
Qinling 64
Kozelsk 64
Kashan 64
Fool's Road 64
Qinling 32
Remember you need mumble!

I honestly cannot say that I have ever enjoyed a round of Quinling. I may be an infantry whore but I believe that there should at least be a place for infantry in all maps and in Quinling there just isn't, its assets or nothing. Imo it needs re-doing, with a much larger village area, underground sections at the mine (like you would expect) and other built up areas to at least give us infantry a place to hide.

That said, i've also never played Quinling with a decent coordinated team and I imagine that it would be a lot better if that was the case.

The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

that is the only problem, there isn't anywhere to hid for the infantry, the terrain is very smoothed because of the 4k terrain morphing problem I think. So there isn't even dips to hid in. Which could be added tbh since if its past the lip of the hill it shouldn't morph if the lip is smoothed?

Its a strange balance though, the map is unforgiving for infantry, but you can't effectively cap a flag without the infantry in the radius :)

So its actually a good map for transport. though its quite hard to find a good LZ sometimes.

One thing Rhino could consider doing is decreasing the tree density by 50-30% in the far NW and SE corners of teh map, since no1 really goes there its unnecessary loading?

And I'd prefer it if the height of the hills was decreased by 20%, they are abit highish imo, but tbh if he did that he might as well do a new map.

Though, I'd much much much prefer the map if there was a layer with either just jets or just attack helis, mixing the two doesn't really work imo because the map isn't big enough, and helis are easy to shoot down with jets.

the infantry layer is a LOL though with huge rover and FAV convoys. I'd like to play that again.

load it up in a local server and see lol, or load the training version up.

Or better yet, load it in PRSP. (I think they did it in PRSP?)

We certainly hope some DEVs will come to the night, its not every day you get to enjoy a 100% mumble enabled experience, but there is no guarentee of their participation :)

I will personally be there in an admin and player capacity as soon as I get in from work.

I'm afraid its first come first served, only those who break RT rules, go afk for long periods or join without having joined the mumble channel will be removed.

Don't forget there is an auto deploy feature in PR for servers that have alot of traffic.

Though turning up early is a good way of ensuring you get a slot.

then you'll have to leave and then rejoin when you get back from your dipping :)
RT is getting reserved slots for supporting members soon, but its not up yet.

Can you post in this thread about the event from now on please?
