ii got no idea what to serch for so if this has been suggested sorry, and the tittle is kinda vauge becuase i dont know what to call it=P
anyway.
What if we could take the training maps and have "vheicals" that just look like a table with a gun on it. Say you wanted to practice with a Sniper rifle, you would go to the table and press "E" (enter vheical key) and you would sit down and be holding the rifle, and you could not move, but the move buttions would still be affecting like the deveation.
What i mean is the sniper rifle would have the same deveation as a normal rifle does, but it helps teach what the bullet does.
So after you sit down, in seat one is the gun that you can fire, and there are targets out in a distance variable, say 200m,300m,400m, and so on, If possible could the bullet also travel slower so when you swap the seat, you come up next to the target, (I.E. you go to seat 2, and its 200m target, you go to seat 3, its 300m target, and so on) and you can see the bullet strike the target, or miss.
If that could not happen, could it tell you on the side of the screen, "Target 400M hit, left foot" or something like that?
This same concept could also be the same with the greanidear kit (m-203) and the lat kit and stuff like that.
The M-203 could be on another bench, with the rangefinder thing comes up (the same thing that the current greanade luancher kit has for a zoom) and you could have targets set out so far away, and have say one bench flat for practicing distance, and one for practicing heght and distance, and basiccly, have it the same as above, keep the deviation the same, and have the 203 go a little slower so the person has time to change seats and veiw the 203 hit..
Same concept for the Lat and the Hat and others.
How dose that sound?

sounds like alot of work for no gain?
go to crate, get weapon...practice...Profit!
The only thing that is required is some kind of marker to show ranges, but even then you can use SL markers.

Re: pr traning ... wepon learning suggestion
i mean it is hard for some to see if they actually hit targets, if i want to practice my greanider long range for example, i would have to go and get the battlerecorder or something becuase on low, explosions and smoke dont show at long range, so if i would want to get my practice down, i would have to fine someone willing to watch my shells come down at a tree or something.
With this you could practice alone, and see exactly where your bullet/grenade/missle hits
i guess for ppl with high graphics, this would be a waist or time, but with ppl on low graphics, i think this could possibly help teach them valuble skills ingame =D

It's a good idea, but as Dr2B Rudd said, it can easily be done by simply getting the kit, aiming at a chosen target, and then putting an attack marker on it to gauge its distance.
Back when training servers first started, I used to use that exact method to practice with the HAT. Works pretty well, actually.
I think a sort of "shooting range" could be a good idea if the DEVs ever make a map specifically for training (which they've talked about) and a "shooting range" setup already exists in the western part of the US main base on Ramiel.
I actually practiced there with my squad while we were waiting for the Blackhawk to spawn and take us into the city.
(Reminded me of Blackhawk Down, as most of that map does.
)
But I think something along the lines of what you suggested could be good later on, maybe in a later update to PR or in PR 2.

it would be cool if they had a training map with targets that could go down when you hit them. seems like it would be fairly easy to throw together. just getting the wiki training manual up would help a lot too.
yeah just going out and shooting things works, but at distance you dont always see the dust puff of what you hit. it would be nice to have a visual reference.
something like the normal known distance range the usmc uses. with different firing points going back to 500yards.
