best way to fix it I found is to disable the ingame AA, then force AA via your GFX card drivers on that program, fixed it for me and a bunch of other ppl :)

Or just use the offical DICE fix, pretty simple to install too.

This, as the DICE fix can cause BSOD for a few peeps with older drivers.

Also, your system will run smoother with GPU forced AA instead of application.

I always thought that application AA was smoother due to being optimized for that particular game.

Nope, not all the time, and especially on games as old as BF2, as the way GPUs process AA and AF is forever changing.

from what I've heard the hotfix from DICE disables widescreen support thou? Can't say I've tried it or looked into it much since doing my way seemed to fix the problems without having to worry about if the server has its md5s updated etc.

you dont need to turn off AA, you just need to turn it off in the ingame BF2 video settings, then force it on with your drivers like so:

It is not a file in the PR mod files, so I doubt very much that PR will release a file to replce one in the main BF2 directory?....

Just do as Rhino and co say, or get the DICE hotfix, not sure why your still asking about it being integrated really :?

Your picture shows the setting "enhance the application setting". If you use this option you will NOT get any AA if it is turned off in BF2. It will only change the AA setting but not turn it on if it is set to off.

To force AA onto BF2 you need to have it set to "override any application setting". This is normally not selectable. But one can use a third party application to unprotect the profile for BF2.

I use the hotfix and have AA disabled in-game (Turning it on ruins my near-death effects). I then force AA using the GPU drivers and everything works fine as far as I can tell. (Had a single BSOD recently but this was long after changing the settings).

There will be an option in the PR v0.9 installer to apply the hotfix if you do not already have it applied. You have to accept it to be applied, it won't be done automatically, since it's modifying base BF2 files that affect vbf2 and all mods.

I tried it your way Rhino, but like Spearhead says i get no AA ingame like that. The game works fine with the hotfix and normal AA on though.

I tried running the hotfix and ended up not able to play at all, kept getting a PB kick for an MP5 mismatch. I'm pretty sure the problem was that I missed a step somewhere along the way. After trying to fix it for several hours I said screw it and uninstalled/deleted everything BF2 and PR and start from scratch, installed BF2 1.0 (yes I've been playing that long), updated to 1.41 then again to 1.5 then installed PR to it...

Alt-Tab works fine w/o the hotfix, I'm running AA @ 1440X900 and can go back and forth all day long w/o any issues on a year old gaming laptop. Not sure but I'm suspecting the alt-tab issue might be a multiple patch artifact ??? If anyone else has tried a clean install please post up the results, maybe I just got lucky.

I do want to thank you Rhino for telling us about that setting menu in NVidea, I had no idea... am adjusting the settings now and will see how it affects the game next time I play. There are a lot of different choices in that menu some of which I don't understand, any optimum setting guide you know of?
