What processor is better???

Post by ryan_ace_10 »

hey i was just wondering what processor is better:
Intel® Pentium® D Processor 940 3.2GHz
or
Intel® Pentium® Processor for Desktop E2220 2.4GHz

my reason for asking this question is, in my processor 940 computer i have 4gb of ram and a nvidia GeForce gtx 275.

On my E2220 computer i have 2gb of ram and a 7600gt.

For some reason the e2220 computer runs pr better on same graphics level as the than the processor 940 with a better graphics card.

I was wondering, since i mainly only play PR is it worth swapping the cards, and ram up, would the e2220 run much better with the gtx 275?

Thanks for any help :)

E2220 > Pentium D

Although the E2220 says it's Pentium, it's actually based in the Core2 architecture, which is a lot more efficient clock-for-clock than the older Pentium D's.

In short, yes, it will be worth swapping over the CPUs.

Yes the e2220 would be the better processor, and you'd probably see a good performance boost from the gtx275 when you have a processor that's not bottle necking it so much. Although I would perhaps consider looking for a faster processor in the future because I doubt that card can be used to its full potential even with a dual core processor.
