Loss of stamina for jumping
So you put in loss of stamina for jumping to stop people from bunny hopping, but has it really stopped it. God forbid play a game outside of a server where admins do not crack down for this, even in servers where people get kicked for bunny hopping someone always does it. And it always seems like they get away, well most of the time. So do you really have to punish the people that play it right because they cannot walk over a 3 inch gap and have to jump? Some maps like Fallujah I find myself with little or no stamina all the time. Let’s face it all the loss of stamina is only punishing the people playing right. Does anyone else feel this way?

I find it's very rare to see anyone bunny hop. Besides, if they're bunny hopping you can time your shots to coincide with when they land thus ruining the tactic. They've made it ineffective to bunny hop and that's how it should be, although I will admit the sidewalks are irritating they're getting fixed ^_^

The massive loss in stamina hurts every one but it a necessary evil, the simple fact you can't jump over a wall or a fence simply for the massive loss in stamina is extremely annoying. But unless some one intent’s a better way to stop bunny hopping there is no alternative

Never seen bunny hopping, probably it's completely useless. Stamina loss is fine imho

Most of them, you do need to jump to get on the path, ive tryed walking normaly over them lots of times and holding shift. still doesnt help.killonsight95 wrote:you know you can actuly walk over them.... i always do it just keep wlaking and if its low enough you'll get over i've never had this problem thta everyone says you have to jump them you don't
Some of the kurbs are High due to road damage which is good but losing that much stamina to get over them is another story.
Anyway Fuzz said they're getting worked on, lets see if its any better.

I agree with OP. You can still jump when you are out of stamina, so simply losing your stamina by jumping doesn't fix anything. I think that I would rather have that one guy bunny hopping rather than all the proper users be punished.

Usually if you sprint while at a angle you can get up without a problem.Mad-Mike wrote:Most of them, you do need to jump to get on the path, ive tryed walking normaly over them lots of times and holding shift. still doesnt help.

If you take away the jumping penalty, there will be more then one...and they will come here in hordes.Duckmeister wrote:I think that I would rather have that one guy bunny hopping rather than all the proper users be punished.

Agree x50.
You should be in a vehicle rather than trying to parkour yourself around maps.

Re: Loss of stamina for jumping
What I'm saying is that the game still lets you jump when your stamina is down, and let's face it, the primary reason for bunny hopping is to avoid bullets. So I can still bunny hop all I want with the current system, I just can't sprint directly afterward.scope wrote:If you take away the jumping penalty, there will be more then one...and they will come here in hordes.
So we still have bunny hoppers, and we also have all the proper users punished, whereas with another system (maybe no jumping at all? jump height varies with stamina level?) the proper users wouldn't get punished and hopefully the actual problem will be solved.

Re: Loss of stamina for jumping
I do agree if we remove the jumping stamina loss altogether and put in no punishment for rapid jumping then there will be more bunny hoppers. I was thinking instead of 25% of your stamina do 10% every jump, or you could do a stamina punishment for 2 jumps in a row Engine willing. I just think back to all the times I jumped most of them are to get over 3 inch gaps, I mostly walk around low walls, and losing 25% of my stamina when it should have been none just hurts. I guess if they are working on the curbs and such then I’m fine with the current system.

Thanks for fixing the sidewalks on PR!
I dont like the jumping restriction because it prevents me from running...but i understand it...
They dont teach bunny hopping in the Army....could there be another way?

Re: Loss of stamina for jumping
OH HAY I KNOW!
How about you have to wait a few seconds inbetween jumps, and limit the amount of jumping before a "cooldown" is put into effect? So you cant just keep tapping it. That way you can still navigate low walls and stuff, keep most of your stamina, and it eliminates bunny hopping. Jeez guys this solution has been in lots of games and it works wonders... Red Orchestra for one. Way to over complicate things

You guys must be the fortunate few to not see a bunny hopper. I saw two in one game on Fallujah West a couple days ago. It sucks because sometimes they actually get away with it.

Re: Loss of stamina for jumping
You can sprint at curbs and still get up them but I have had a problem with the run juice in PR because of the jumping costing so much run juice and because sometimes I think you should be able to use it when you cant. Bunny hopping in PR really doesn't pay. You might get away but you cant shoot until you have stopped and waited to sight in. I have seen people bunny hopping a little but most PR players see no need for it because it doesn't really work for good gaming.
One thing I have always really been annoyed with is when I have been running forward but stop before I am really out of run juice but it still doesn't let me use it. This becomes a problem when you are in the open trying to get to cover and an APC comes out and starts shooting at you. I don't care how tried you are you will run screaming like a little girl no matter how tired you are. I don't know if it could be made to work but it might be cool to let people run for up to 5 seconds after their run juice is out to allow them to get away from things like that. But if they do it would take 10-20 seconds before they start to start recovering stamina. If you run like that in real life you would have to stop and recover for a bit to be able to keep going right? Just a thought from a humble PR gamer.
