Delayed Asset Spawn.

I've played vanilla recently after the new patch to try out the maps. Its actually a lot better, not as frustrating any more.

One thing I picked up was the delayed spawn on assets at the start of the round. So instead of a attack chopper spawning on start it spawns 30 seconds or so after. This is so everyone can get a chance to get in not just the closest guy to the asset.

I think this might be a good idea for PR.

1. It would mean squads can organise around choppers, trucks etc. and be ready when the assets spawn.

2. Both sides will be leaving main in vehicles at approx the same time (unless they start walking but this is usually a lot slower).

3. Will give a little more time for planning for squads. (As most servers only allow squads to be made at 1:30 on the timer.)

Only thing that might be bad is that more people might go for certain assets like attack hueys or tanks etc. So its possible that we have a few too many people waiting for assets only usable by 1 or 2 people.

Only a thought. Maybe someone has a few ideas for tweaking.

afaik the delay you can ad is equal to the respawntime of the asset... while in bf2 choppers respawns every 30sek, you can delay it by 30sek.. in PR spawntimes are up to 20min, therefore your delay will be 20min for such assets... if you dont mind sitting in the main for the first 20 min to organise your squad, this suggestion would be a good one ;)

Urgh you guys don't understand at all.

Im sayign delay 30 seconds from round start so that every1 is ready in pistion when assets liek trans chopper spawn.

Less of a scramble at the start and more organised.

WE DONT ALREADY HAVE THIS.

The plans for the squads are usually planned before start. What I suggest is everyone standing with their squads together.

Chopper pilots will be at each heli pad.

Crewmen will be at the veh spawns.

AND THEN the assets will spawn and that way every1 is organised and ready.

17 mins from round start, and Im not taking about asset respawn times or when they first spawn.

Just talking about assets at the start spawn 15-30 seconds after round starts.

The problem here which you dont understand LudacrisKill is that the delay spawn goes off the vehicle's spawn time. We can't have the vehicle delay spawned for only 30secs without the vehicle's respawn time being 30secs with the current vbf2 spawning code. This obviously would destroy our current spawning system :p

But like others have said, we do already use the delayed spawn system for many things like the Cobra on Muttrah, its just a lot longer :p

We may be able to rework the code for it but it wouldn't be a simple task and we have higher priority things that need coding ;)

This is really no big deal, im not sure what server you play on but when someone wants to use an asset they create a squad so it is designated and there is no rush, everyone has an equal chance as long as you get in the squad fast enough :P

The point about getting assets being fair is a just a small point.

Its the part where the squads can organise and group up together.

But as Rhino said, its too much work for too little gain. Which I agree.

he's talking about like when you spawn on the carriar some of the squad spawn top and some bottom deck, choppers are in such a hurry to deploy troops any one on top is in the battle and half the squad is stuck at base,

he wants 30secs or a min for every one to rally in one place at a choper spawn or an apc spawn.

So, everyone would camp the vehicle spawnpoints with a crewman or pilot kit and spam the e button?

You see the problem with doing that is that the admin will kick you if are not in the assest squad
