Win 7 - Directx error - HELP!

Hey guys, I'm getting this very frustrating error with directx, I can't play BF2 or PR.

Whenever i try to run dxdiag, i get this error message: Error: Could not load DXDIAGN.DLL

Any ideas? I've reinstalled/updated directx from microsoft's website, and I am using Windows 7. I've had 7 installed for a couple weeks (got it a couple weeks before release) and I did not do a clean install, I upgraded from Vista 64.

what version of directx do you have?

heres the latest one - Download DirectX 9.0c (full package) - the latest version of Direct X
