Does PR work on Window 7?

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone manage to get PR running on Window 7. I am planning on getting the new OS, but just want to comfirm a few things. If it doesn't work I won't buy it simple lol.

Simple answer is yes, even on 64b it runs just fine. The core management actually assists it somewhat preventing the pb multi-core error to some extent and I haven't had a single issue more so than XP and actually a great improvement on Vista.

Thanks for the reply. If you don't mind me asking 1 more Q. Does the original BF2 runs as well?

If it works PR good, BF2 will even better. PR is a slightly more demanding program with more detailed objects, more statics, larger maps.

I had the problem that when the game started up it gave a blacksreen and crashed to desktop. The problem was that my pc couldnt handeld the standaard resolution (800x600) of bf2.exe ive changed that to an other one via C:\Users\Admin\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default there you find Video open that with word and change the resolution to a other one.

That's a problem for everyone on every OS. At least in PR.

i had a more problematic problem of having the refresh rate crashing the game, took me ages to figure out lol

yep runs fine on windows 7 mate, no problems what so ever!

I've had it run fine, but since upgrading, I've had issues with 'non page file' areas, crashing every second map, and I've had to reinstall due to the server lists not coming up...

I suppose I could be an isolated case, but its rather annoying.

Servers not coming up tonight is not a user-end issue. Servers are f'd up. I have 7 Home Premium 64 Bit and had lag issues. I disabled page-file, DO NOT RUN BF2.EXE OR PR.EXE IN ANY COMPATIBILITY MODE. It makes you lag like hell after a while... Make sure you have the most up to date drivers for everything.

It works alright for me and I have Windows 7 64-bit.

It doesn't run that great, though. Although I have a very fast computer I find it slows down from time-to-time. BF2 doesn't take advantage of more than one core.

Runs pretty well on Win7 64bit, but with some connection lags caused by sucky wi-fi drivers. (Intel 4965agn) If you are not on Intel wireless you should be fine...

It runs good, only problem I had with my upgrade DVD from Vista 64bit to Windows 7 64bit is that punkbuster gets f***ed, but you can solve this by downloading "pbsvc.exe" You can find it on the pb website. It removes pb and then reinstalls it, I did this because my pnkBstrB.exe wasn't installed properly after the upgrade.
(I got kicked out of servers with the message of pnkBstrB not running or some kind of mismatch.)

By doing that it fixed the problem and I can play it very well now, you still got the same admin rights like in vista. You should be aware of them and set it off or run everything as an admin to overcome irritating problems.

Well, what's wrong with wireless? When I used Vista and XP it was no different from a wired connection + I can play PR in my bathroom .

P.S Intel updated their wifi drivers on 21 Oct. If you have something Intellish try them out instead of outdated default win7 drivers. I updated mine but haven't tested in game yet.
