I just downloaded the Core and Levels and I installed them along with PRSP. I saved them under this file root: C:\Program Files\New Folder\mods\mods\pr. I executed the game on the folders own startup icon (No shortcuts) and it was working okay at the main screen until i tried to update servers. Nothing poped up. Then I tried playing LOcal servers and as soon as I hit find local servers (Or whatever it said) I got kicked back to the desktop. Any kind of button that would lead me to a game lobby or area would get me kicked.
This is my order of installation:
Battlefield 1.02
Battlefield 1.41
Battlefield 1.5 Patch
PB Man. Update (MD5 Matchtool thingamajig. Annoying as hell.)
PR 0.874 Core
PR 0.874 Levels
PR 0.874 SP_Core
PR 0.874 SP_Levels
What did i do wrong?
PR Crash to Desktop Prob.

Re: PR Crash to Desktop Prob.
I fixed it now. Both BF2 and PR are working properly although for some reason there are no servers? Problem: I put PR's Contents in one folder too far. (C:\Program Files\New Folder\mods\mods\pr) It needed to be placed in the last mods folder, not PR. So i moved it all back and it's working properly. This is the new root: C:\Program Files\New Folder\mods\mods (PR is kicked out)

Re: PR Crash to Desktop Prob.
No servers showing is Gamespy's fault as usual. It's also Tuesday night which is when EA just loves to do server maintenance.

Read:
Project Reality v0.87 Installation Guide
Installation timeline
1. Install BF2
-----------------
BF2:SF Expansion | --- If you have BF2:SF, here is when it should be installed.
----------------
2. Install Battlefield 2 v1.41
3. Install Battlefield 2 v1.5
4. Install the latest PR Build (Currently: v0.874)
From the guide:
2b. Download the TWO seperate Project Reality v0.874 Client Installers from your preferred URL/torrent from the realitymod.com Downloads Page
The two installers are listed as CORE and LEVELS.
3b. Run the CORE installer, following the on-screen prompts to accept the license agreement and path of install. The install directory should automatically be selected. If for some reason it isn't, you need to install to your root Battlefield 2 directory.
For example:
C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2
If you do not have .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 already installed, the installer will automatically install it for you.
Run the LEVELS installer, following the on-screen prompts to accept the licence agreement and path of install. The install directory should automatically be selected. If for some reason it isn't, you need to install to your root Battlefield 2 directory.
For example:
C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2
You posted:
Maybe I'm misunderstanding. You can save the installer files (core&levels) anywhere on your drive, but you need to install PR to your root Battlefield 2 directory.C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2
After you have it installed properly and
before you go online to join a server
you should:
1. Download pbsvc
2. Start pbsvc installer, you should see options for install, uninstall, test.
3. Run the Uninstaller, then delete the PB folder to remove any leftover files.
4. Restart your computer.
5. reinstall punk buster files with pbsvc( if your using Vista DO NOT set compatibility to XP, run as admin ok)
6. After pcsvc installs, click the "test" option to check the punk buster install you just did.
5. Make sure it comes back "all green"
6.Download pbsetup(pbsvc DOES NOT install pbsetup.
If your using Vista DO NOT set compatibility to XP, run as admin ok)
7.Create a pbsvc installer shortcut AND pbsetup program shortcut on your desktop.
8.Run pbsetup (from the shortcut on your desktop) add BF2 to the games list, then hit update."
(pbsvc installs the punk buster 'engines' or applications.
PBsetup installs the files/gas the 'engines run)
UPDATE YOUR FIREWALL
Make sure your firewall has permission for:
BF2.EXE
PBSETUP.EXE
(search for your location)
PNKBSTRA.EXE
path:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSWOW64\PNKBSTRA.EXE
or (not 100% sure but for 32 bit O/S I think it's)C:\WINDOWS\SYSWOW32\PNKBSTRA.EXE
PnkBstrB.exe
path:
"C:\Users"your user name here"\AppData\Roaming\PnkBstrB.exe"
If you still get PB kicks try:

Select Punkbuster B, right click, select properties, select the recovery tab and make sure they all say "Restart the service" for all three dropdowns. You can do the same for PB A, but generally speaking, it's the B client that stops responding. Any time you update PB, you may need to re-do this step.
